We are a joke because Alleva is an idiot. He botched the last two seasons. All that said, Texas is probably worse off than LSU in a many ways. The ONLY reason they hired the coach everyone wanted was because that is the job he wanted all along. If Herman were not available they would be fumbling around.

I think we should've taken the chance on him.

With O you're getting a coach with a losing record for his career and only 10 wins in 3 years during his only full time HC job at a P5 school.

I know as fans it's difficult for us to understand this, but Herman never wanted the LSU job. It was Texas the whole time. He used LSU as leverage to get more out of Texas. I wish I could say he wanted the LSU job, but he never did.

and you get a coach who you can fire with no baggage after 1-3 years if he starts to fail and a coach worth it is available. I don't believe herman is worth 6 mil a year and committing 6 years to him.

You are probably right. But have other candidates in mind. Don't just settle for the DL coach cause you're too damn stupid to do an actual coaching search.

Well what happened with this offense under coach Eaux was completely different than what we seen under Miles for the past 2 plus seasons. We got over 620 yards of offense in two SEC contests, one of them on the road. We had a perfect game plan against Florida offensively but unfortunately imploded inside the 5 yard line, otherwise that's 5 for 6 dominant performances against SEC competition. Not just winning, but embarrassing your opponent. And we are the only team to be competitive vs Alabama this entire season.

While I am extremely disappointed in not getting Herman (thanks for nothing Charlie Strong, I will forever hate you), Unless we were going to go get Petersen from Washington, Eaux was our best fallback option.

We all know of Orgeron's recruiting skills (possibly going to be a stronger recruiter than Miles if you can believe that). Now go get an OC that can put us over the top.

Why settle for a coach you can fire??

That's like playing not to lose instead of playing to win. You know, like Leslie did.

Agreed. After last year, it's obvious thinking ahead is not part of Alleva's make up.

Yeah, I believe LSU fans actually believed their own wishful thinking.

When I first read the update ticker while watching the game I was ecstatic for getting a potential stud coach. While also feeling bad for O. Then after reading that Herman was still open to Texas I knew he was using LSU.
