Tom Herman, come on down (Report: LSU honing in on signing Herman)

It's not credible, it's a panic move by Texas boosters to muddy the water, or a move by the agent of Herman to try and get Texas to offer more money. The more money Herman makes the more his agent's cut is.

 

How does everyone know this? I admit, I've been guilty of it myself, but I'm not even sure where I picked it up from. I guess it makes sense because Texas is such an iconic college football program and I believe he may even be from Texas, but who's to say he doesn't want to team up with his pal Dave Aranda and a challenge to be the best of the best in the SEC West?

 

I think people assume he wants the Texas job because it is a "big time gig". Frankly with the new batch of shit that got thrown in the water (presumably from Texas boosters) I would think Herman would want to advoid that kind of mettling/drama. He also has got to realize those fans are desperate and delusional. They want to be relevant again and now. If he goes there and doesn't win right away he will be on the hot seat pretty fast as well.


LSU is much much less of a cluster fuck and a team that can win now!

First, I wasn't saying it. I was saying our option was to not talk to him because we think he wants that job. But second, most guys want the texas job. It has some downsides but is a great job.

 

Hope this isn't the KoD, but that's probably the lock of the day. His team is playing like they know he's not going to be there next year.

 

People assume it because most of coaching career is in the state of Texas and he was a GA at UT

 

It means he should have fired Miles last year, the banners across the TV last night were a complete joke as soon as one of them said Herman will wait on Texas.

 

I think Hermans agent is for sure wanting a bidding war for his man, I think Jimbo is using the war for Herman for leverage. Now if Jimbo doesn't get along with our Def. coordinator, then Jimbo should be scratched, I don't want them raping our pocket book for self gain.
If they want to hold us over the fire , then let Coach Eaux go after offensive line , and a good pocket QB ( if we don't have on in the wings ) fill in a few holes on Defense and let's play with Coach. Now that Special Team guy should already be packing, I like Moffett a lot. But beef up our offensive line and a smart QB and we can win , win , win....... what Has Coach Bergman said during all this crap

 

It's hard to know what's true and what's not in the "fog of war" as it were. They are saying it could be LSU leaking to force Jimbo to make a decision, or Herman trying to make Texas act, or even Texas boosters trying to force UT admin to get moving. It's all a shit show until ink is on the contract. I still have no faith in Alleva and the LSU powers getting this right. In this day and age everyone wants so bad to be important and consider themselves to be close to the program that they get "diarrhea of the mouth" and ruin confidential negotiations. Makes me sick that people who make more in a year than most make in ten can't remain professional and get this deal done smoothly. We live in a day and age with so many checks and balances, that certain people have to know what is transpired, that leaks are bound to happen. Also as mentioned, agents are such scumbags they can't keep their mouth shut either due to their greed.
