You boys need to lean back a little in your foxholes.

Glad we did not pay for Jimbo.
    Good news/bad news:
Bad news: Texas will always win in the money game
Good news: If Herman really means different way of doing business at Texas, you can put in a take out an order for some etouffee (or whatever that shit is) today. It ain't changing at UT.

Article over here yesterday talking about openings had Applewhite getting Houston HC job if Herman leaves, if he does not, it would be a story. If LSU gets embarassed today, Alleva's ass needs to be gone by tomorrow!
Why can't they ever hire a coach and not be an internet sensation for the wrong reasons????

    So we have three options.

    1. Don't start a coaching search
    2. Don't talk to Tom Herman because he covets the Texas Job
    3. Talk to a select few guys and try to get a hire done a day or two after the season so it doesn't affect recruiting as much and take the risk of one of those guys using our conversations as leverage for the job he really wants

I hate Alleva as much as everyone else because he's a weak moron but so far he's handled this well and if he gets a coach hired this weekend, then he's been successful.

And another thing, this crap I'm hearing about, if Alleva doesn't get this done with Herman or Fisher, he should be fired. What does that even mean? It's not totally up to him. He's obviously gone after the guys we want. We'll do everything we can to get them. If we don't, then it didn't work out. That happens in life.

If Aleva doesn't get the guy he wants it's because he folded when the ante got too high. Everybody has a price. Go all in or go home with your dick in your hand and your thumb up your ass.

Good assessment, I bet you're a dynamite negotiator.

It's the art of the deal. In real life you should buy low and sell high but buying low is the last thing you want if you want to sign the football coach you really want. Wayne Huizenga decided he wanted Nick Saban so he kept upping the offer until Nick Couldn't say no. Two years later Mal Moore did the same thing at Alabama. If I had the freedom to spend LSU's money I would get Fisher or Herman's name on a signed contract

With Jimbo's pedigree, if 7 mil for 10 years would seal the deal, you do it. Frankly, you hope it's for at least 10 seasons. As far as Herman, see Jimbo.

That worked out really well for Huizenga didn't it?

It's not LSU's money. It's the boosters money, and they're businessmen. Alleva doesn't have the authority to pay 7 million over 10 even if he wanted to.

It's worth noting that there are rumors this is all a smokescreen and Jimbo has agreed to come. Who knows. As I've said several times, I hope we get Herman or Fisher but, in the end, I think it will be O.
