You can scratch Herman off the list because he's going to Texas after Strong is fired......at the end of the season.
For those throwing out his name, let's go ahead and officially scratch Petrino off too. Not that I ever wanted him as anything other than the coach of an opposing team, but there were some clamoring for him
As much as I believe in Herman, I feel more and more Coach O is the man for the LSU job. He is from Louisiana and love LSU. He brings a passion and a fire to the program that's been lack. In just one short week at the helm we see a HUGE difference in the focus of the team. We see a gameplan and execution. Granted Missou isn't an exceptional team but we see a totally different team than we did under Miles.
Hey, if Coach Oeaux can get this kind of production and motivation, then who's Herman or Peterson or Fisher, etc? Coach Oeaux is a Cajun, and very easy to root for, plus he's all about LSU!!
The OL is blowing up holes, with virtually no penalties. Complete opposite of Miles. The passing attack is much more efficient. The D is looking dominant, much more like we expected than the previous few weeks. The DJ Chark catch when he fought for the ball was the epitome of Coach O bringing a new fire. Chark fought to the end, we didn't see that type of intensity under Miles. We don't need a great offensive mind, we just need good coaching up of players. We need better play calling. We are seeing everything we needed to see. Geaux Coach Oeaux!!
I love what I've seen so far from Eaux, but let's pump the brakes and see how the rest of the year unfolds before anointing him. Next week will be another big test, for no other reason then it's a road game with a bullshit 11am start time. Said it in another thread, but no SEC game should start before 2:30 CST
This was Mizzou and they have no defense. We need to tap the brakes on this offensive production. It was spectacular but it is only mizzou
That is true, Mizzou isn't an exceptional defense. It's true, we have to manage expectations. That being said we saw a team that was night and day different. We saw a team that came into the game well prepared. A team with focus, a team with purpose. We saw a ton of improvement in the OL. Much better, more consistent blocking and far less penalties. We saw much more flow to the play calling with less predictability. We saw a team with energy, a fight in them.
of course, no one's ready to anoint Coach O yet. But we can't help but being excited about what we saw. I'm not gonna tap the brakes, im gonna remain fired up!
