That's cool; we disagree about Moffitt. But here's the funny thing, and I think I expressed this about 10 months ago. The theory was rolling around in my head for a lot of last season, and I finally expressed it after the Bama game, basically telling people they were wrong in thinking Bama made Ensminger their bitch. Our physical strength was the problem; my theory goes. It wasn't E's fault because they were running through our line with such abandon that every play was D.O.A. So...what do you think the problem was....is?
Is it Moffett or the fact that Miles preferred smaller, quicker linemen over the beefier monsters. Changing that takes some time because the positions usually require the physical maturity that most incoming freshmen don't have until they are in a good weight snd conditioning program for a couple of years. It's disappointing that so far Oeaux doesn't have many commitments from highly ranked OL players.
I've commented about the recruiting of OL as well. To be specific, Oeaux doesn't seem to be recruiting any, or at least not many. Of our current commitment list of 22 players, 8 are defensive linemen, only 2 on the offensive side. As for Miles recruits, yes, I guess he did like them smaller. The 3 Miles recruits who started vs Bama last year weighed in at 300-310, and the other 2, who O brought in, are both 320+. I think your argument about physical maturity would carry more weight (see what I did there?) if the players in question were 1st or even 2nd year freshmen, and not 3rd and 4th year guys - which Charles, Brumfield and Cushenberry all were. You don't get much more time to mature in college than that.
Do you think the fact that we don't have any OL leaving early has any influence on the fact we only have two committments for 2020?
Its possible, but we have 3 seniors and 2 juniors who could possibly leave early next year (Charles and Cush), so those are roster spots that we should be looking to fill.
Who's "injured" and what's the "injury"? I'll hang up and listen. I guarantee you don't know. Most that have missed practices had offseason surgery and/or serious injuries last season. It's called "load management". They aren't "injured". Notice when guys like K'Lavon and Fulton, even Delpit, came back to practice, none were in a non-contact jersey and were a full go. They weren't "injured". And everyone seems to be in the best condition of their lives. Sounds like you're just bitching to bitch, man.
Agreed....so was he overrated, or did our staff fail to coach him up? Or maybe just didn't pick up on things last year, and he busts loose this fall. Either he or Deculus needs to step up; he's another one who didn't live up to the hype last year.
