While I do look at JB as one of the better quarterbacks in the SEC, I don't see him equal to Fromm. I'd put Bryant at Mizzou over Joe (a guy that been badly characterized when discussing his quarterback talents.)

I beg to differ sir. Joe Burrow has more "it" factor, swagger, is a better runner and more toughness. Keep in mind that Joe was thrown into the fray last year with only a fall practice to learn our system, the players and our coaches. Fromm has been in the Georgia system 2 years longer than JB. Besides one head to head meeting and JB outclassed your boy Fromm. Joe didn't have the OL or the RB's Georgia to aid him as Fromm did. In fact JB will outshine your buy Tua this year.

I do find it amusing that the best player LSU has, Delpit, says it is the best offense he's faced and we don't hear that when describing the offense LSU is fielding this season. And that's with all of those guys returning.

heard the rhetorical question yesterday: has there ever been a team in the last 15 years that’s underachieved based on recruiting as much as LSU?

I don’t know the answer but this is an interesting question. Underachieve is a nebulous term. How many teams that recruit well play Alabama, Auburn and Florida EVERY year? Not Clemson, Not Ohio st, not Alabama, Not Norte Dame, Not a lot of teams. I could go on and on.... Go Tigahs

What I think you're not considering is that - whoever anyone's "target" is - its not a spur of the moment decision. At least, I don't think it is. No one's saying,"Gee, I need someone to bitch about if we don't go undefeated and win the NC.....Pikachu, I choose you!" Its based on what we've seen over the past couple of years. Everyone sees things a little differently, you included. I offer explanations for my opinions only. But I think these preseason threads would be pretty boring if everyone thought alike, don't you?

Oh I see so whomever wins the recruiting wars should win the NC. Well lets just forget the season and mail out trophies based on where each team ranked in recruting 1, 2, 3 and so on. So injuries, schedule, attrition and coaching changes don't matter? So based on your view LSU overachieved because if you look at average ranking in recruiting last 4-5 years than we shouldn't have ended up #6 last year or at the very least we ended up where we should have.

Football is a little more complicated than that.

football is complicated in that it requires player development

One team from SEC east, one team from SEC west, one team from Big 10, one team from Big 12, one team from ACC, one team from PAC 12, and one independent. Makes sense to me...
