Thank you, I have been saying that JJ sucked in high school and that I could tell when he played at DHS that he wasn't a SEC qb. I also said why the hell Miles recruited him I will never know. NO, some people refuse to believe this.
That interview was published yesterday or the day before. From that, yes he lost respect. But again the hate came MUCH before that. It has been present for 2 years or more. Again I am not talking about the criticism of his skill or lack there of. That is always legitimate discussion. BTW what about D Peterson and JL saying the similar things in earlier interviews? Do you hate them and accuse them of throwing Les under the bus??? Are they no longer Tigers as they showed similar disloyalty?
You are forgetting one important thing. THE ENTIRE GAME PLAN WAS MADE FOR JJ. So what does JJ do he criticizes it cause he can't excute the game plan that was MADE FOR HIM! The game plan was never for JL or DP. They have a right to question it. They gave up their time and practiced hard. To do what? Sit the bench.
One could also argue that, had Lee been give the chance and succeeded in capping off the best season in college football history, it would have also been the ultimate story of redemption, given the way his career started out.
Ok, the sh!t is getting a little deep now. He was undefeated as a starter in HS and was highly recruited by teams other then LSU. You want to tell me that his performance prior to the BCS game led you to the conclusion that he sucked as an SEC QB, then fine. I'm with you. Stevie Wonder could tell us that. But you're telling us that you saw something in him back in HS that led you to believe he would suck as an SEC QB, when professional recruiters/scouts didn't even see it? OOOKKKK...sure, whatever.
He was only offered a scholorship at Ole Miss and LSU. That was also in JJ words. What does that tell you? Ole Miss is great! How did they do this year?
My original question (does JJ deserved to be "disowned" in the eyes of LSU fans) has nothing to do with his play. On that, it is what it is, and while there's every reason to question his ability, I never questioned his effort. It has everything to do with his attitude and his failures as a leader, as SVP illustrated very well with his comments yesterday.
This...... Check the QB rankings the year he committed. He was 10 spots higher than Tyler Wilson. Which is even more evidence those of you who get all excited about recruiting rankings and stars are wasting your time. Just like people complaining about getting Jacob Hester because he was "only a 2 star" JJ was horrible as a QB and sadly his character has shown some flaws his senior year. BUT... To say you had a crystal ball his HS Sr. year in absurd. Also the word is he ALWAYS looked great in no pressure situations like practice and QB camps. Every year we heard how great he looked. I dont need to detail the absolute failure he was in many games at QB, you guys have done that already. But to quote Motley Crue "Dont got away mad, please just go away" Is really how I feel about Jefferson I am SO glad to turn the page with him
Ok, I will play devil's advocate. Miles threw JJ under the bus. The two are a perfect a match. Les Miles Calling for Spike and Lying Against Ole Miss 11/21/09 - YouTube
JJ has done nothing to endear himself to the LSU fans. After the "offensive " performance in the BCS, JJ felt he needed to defend himself from all the ridicule. All he did was drive himself further from the fans. In the aftermath of the BCS, hopefully Miles has learned a valuable lesson when recruiting players. When recruiting QB's, it's just as important to recruit kids that have leadership and abilitlty to learn, as well as physical talent.
