A chance for him to do what in the NFL? Run Gatorade out to the players between plays or wash jock straps after each game?

This just adds to the evidence that Les's decision to bench JL and back JJ was one of the colossal blunders in LSU history.

It was a mistake of such magnitude that it burned Les, burned JJ, burned JL, burned the team, burned the program, burned the fans and torched the millions of viewers hoping for at least a half assed competitive game.

Unfortunately it raises serious questions about Les's judgement.

Agree with the above with the exception of JL. Yes, he was burned in the sense that he was ignored and had to ride the bench while he watched his team implode;. But he was the only guy on the offense totally free of blame, due to CLM's Sixty Minutes of Horrific Miscalculation!

JL came out of the BCSNCG cleaner than his uniform!

and also immortalized by the fanbase.....

seriously, I think a lot of fans are very thankful to Lee for his major contribution this special season, and his loyalty to the LSU program.:geauxtige

One might argue Les did Lee a favor by never putting him in the game. The LSU staff and team played and acted totally unprepared, and I doubt Lee would have done anything to help (though I think he needed to be given the chance personally).. Les has essentially made Lee forever the hero that never got the chance to save the day.

One could argue that was the best thing Les ever did for Lee all things considered.

You know, as fans we tend to look back fondly at our former players years later...."once a Tiger, always a Tiger." There are very few who, for one reason or another, you want to disown. Cecil was certainly one, probably Perrilloux as well. Has JJ hit that point?

You raise a very interesting point here. Cecil, for all his troubles I really don't have a grudge there. I mean the guy just liked looking at naked chics. Give him a football and point him in the right direction and he was pure gold. Sure he left sort of a blemish on the program but when it is all said and done we got the best of that kid. He never lived up to what he did here even at lesser schools or the NFL.

RP- again, no hard feelings here either. He pegs the dumbass meter because had he only left his "thug" buddies behind he could have been amazing here. We all know how that story ended.

JJ however, different story. Dude had every chance to shine and did so in quite a few of them. The trouble is just like his HC you never knew when he was going to lay an egg.

Thanks for the perspective. I have to ask a few questions though. Both Cecil and RP let their personal issues interfer with their performance at LSU.
In RP's case his actions have been blamed for the last 5 years of problems we have had at QB. Yet you give him a pass, why? His actions caused both JL & JJ to be put in the line of fire unprepared and in JLs case damaged so much that only this year was he able to overcome the effects. RP's action also put JJ at QB where he wasn't good enough.

JJ showed his ass in the interview no question. He lost much of my support as he showed the selfishness and lack of awareness many have pointed out. However he like JL stck with LSU and gave him the best. Remember BOTH have been booed on the field at Tiger stadium. Both gave everything they had to LSU and in fact lead the team for the best record in the BCS in the last 5 years.
JJ wanted to be first team SO did JL. Les & the coaches decide who plays. BTW there were 2 OCs, a QB coach (Krags) and the scouting combine that rate JJ higher than JL. He starred at the Manning acadamy last summer as well. So there must best something more than JJs pics of Les in the almost total agreement among PROFESSIONALs that JJ was better.

WHY DO YOU BLAME JJ FOR LES'S DECISION???? WHY DO YOU BLAME jj FOR TRYING TO BE THE QB??? What would you have done in his place given you had the same skill and desire????

Where does the hate come from people??? Thank JJ for his effort and the many good things he did and forgive him is limited talent for what he did is much greater. Finally MOVE ON PLEASE!!!!!

    JJ's issues are:
    1. Lack of consistency
    2. Limitations at the QB position, including FB IQ
    3. ?leadership and chemistry with rest of the Offense

Because of 1 and 2, Les stayed with JJ for a long time with lots of patience, hoping one day the switch would get turned on permanently. Also limitations with playcalling.

I doubt he would be the starter if LSU had a better pool of QB's. Maybe Les sees something in Lee that is a more serious weakness, like lack of mobility, as a major weakness. In other words, JJ shouldn't have been a starter , or even a QB.

I think LSU would have a better chance in the NC game if they had prepared both QB's equally as well. and used them.

Because the head coach has stuck by his side time and time again even after a bar fight and he payed him back by throwing him under the bus. geez can't even imagine why so much hate. He was covering his own ass in that interview instead of saying the truth which is I suck at being a qb. NO LOYALTY to the coach. You can't have it both ways. You can't like Miles and like JJ. Obviously JJ doesn't like or respect Miles he just threw his ass under the bus.

HE IS NOT A TIGER! LSU TIGERS HAVE LOYALTY!
