I'm hoping that the coaches factor this in. I have no reason to doubt that they will, but I suppose you never know. Jefferson seemed to be a much more natural fit in the games. He did the little things that Lee didn't do, and the players seemed to invest their confidence in him because of that. Lee has an amazing arm, and has shown tons of guts and ability at times. And if he can reach JJ's comfort level, he could turn out to be very, very good. But that is a big 'if.' It's hard for me to want anyone but Jefferson to start. In such a short time, he's made an awful lot of just ridiculous plays. One that comes to mind was the option pitch against Arky when he was in the full grasp of the defender. Although it was called back, it really typified his intensity and confidence. He really does seem to have it all...the toughness, the arm/accuracy, the wheels, and the leadership.
I saw that, too. I sorta hope the competition stays close. LSU could use Lee as a backup this year if JJ is the man. Would be nice to have some experience backing up our starter. It's gonna be fun watching Shep develop, too. I still predict that Garrett is gonna be one of the best QBs in the SEC by the time he graduates. There's a lot of weaponry on the squad. Barring tons of injuries (knocking furiously on wood), the next two years will say a lot about our new and not-so-new coaches. Because the raw material is most certainly there. Especially at QB, WR, and DB. And if Baker and Minter live up to the hype, we may be deep at LB as well for the first time in a few seasons. I still haven't read comforting words on quality depth of the O and D lines, though.
The Dandy one also didn't have C. Hawkins in the CB rotation for awhile... He's fun to read but probably not footnote worthy...
Most people had no clue he would be the odd man out because it was being reported he was looking great at WR, just as similar accolades are being heaped upon Molton currently. But the biggest surprise is that he isn't big enough and is listed at 190 lbs, although he is reportedly bigger than that now. You don't expect many 190 wr's to be converted to TE especially without redshirting. This was a big surprise to most fans and rightly so.
I know he has some errors in his reports. You still have to like the old guy because he truly bleeds purple and gold. I know Izzy stated he was second string MLB earlier in the post and was guessing where he got the information, since DD mentioned it this morning.
I second this. I try to start out my day with DD. His "Good morning, Tiger Fans!" always brings a smile to my face. :geaux:
