No wasn't directed at you. And I understand where you're coming from. Was just saying in general to those that would take Miles over Saban.
Here is something I absolutely believe. If Saban had stayed, he would have worn out his welcome with this fan base. Part of why he is fondly remembered is because he didn't stay long.
Winning a few national championships would have endeared him to our fanbase forever. You don't have to be warm and fuzzy and say quirky things when you win.
Totally agree. I don't care if our coach is the biggest a-hole in the world as long as he's winning titles.
Saban's one loss NC AT LSU was superior to Miles two loss NC AT LSU. Its revised history relying on some tortured fiction that Saban at LSU was somehow a totally different coach than the current iteration of Saban. Saban was a better coach than Miles in 2003, he was a better coach in 2008, or 2010, or 1983, or 1999, or today. He's just a better, smarter, more rigorous coach, period. This is very simple. Saban is and always has been a better coach than Miles. Since both coached at LSU, Saban is the best coach in school history. But thats simply my opinion.
After LSU shit the bed for most of a decade, Saban comes in and builds the foundation of a winning program. LSU wins it's first BCSCG. I don't think Miles could have done that.
And I simply agree with your opinion. Miles wouldn't have a NC if not for the luckiest final weekend of college football ever. Under Saban, LSU played their way into the NC game.
I feel that in comparing the job each man did at LSU, you must put aside anything that Saban did before 1999 or after 2005. But we may not find common ground on that, which is fine.
yeah i guess. winning the same NCs and sec titles in half the time sorta ended that one too I feel. Along with him being the one to rebuild and hand off a top 5 program to a guy you claim is better when the team is now out of the top 25 consecutive years. I thought I addressed that part pretty well too.
