Well, been busy and haven't weighed in yet. We lost 17 starters and I think 5 coaches? New D coordinator with a bunch of inexperienced kids. Toss in Covid restrictions, limited practice and quarantines....
    • Reality is, my expectations were probably too high for this team BUT, this is LSU, reload next man up.
    • Brennan needs to work on his speed through the progressions. Timing is off some. He's not JB but I think he'll be okay if and when the Oline gels and steps up
    • O line needs more time to play together. Sloppy and too many assignments were missed.
    • Saw more dropped passes yesterday than I saw the entire last year
    • The Defense was pathetic. I pray they get better.
    • I blame coaching for the horrendous D play. They weren't ready and the coaching made no adjustments to help them out.
    • Damn Bo WTF 600 yards WTF
They will get better but will it be fast enough to make a difference?????

Over 600 vs Miss St? I’d say defense was less than spectacular .

I'll just say this. Everyone knows what we lost, so I won't even bring that up. But I remember Pelini's first game as DC in 2005. I think the Az St QB had over 500 yards passing IIRC. His D seemed to settle in not long after, so I'm not ready to call him a bust just yet. We were lucky to win that game on the strength of 2 blocked kicks (a punt and a FG) being returned for TDs and a last second pass to Doucet that was called a TD, but would probably be incomplete if they had replay back then.

Pelini has been a HC for the last 12 years. It may take a while for hime to get back in the groove as a DC.

That is true. I had forgotten how much that defense was torched that night. Of course, most of likely thought that was Katrina fatigue.

    BJ took plenty of sack.
