I have to agree with the others that you are looking to criticize for the sake of criticism. A & M was going out there to embarrass us yesterday, and we pulled down their pants and spanked their Aggie asses all the way back to College Station. I read their boards last night, and there were threads with titles like, "Well, LSU just showed us where we stand in the SEC hierarchy." The bragging pride that the Aggies have run around with for the past year was evaporated all in one cold, rainy afternoon/evening in Death Valley. And I rejoice...
I may not have stated things exactly how I intended in the original post. Credit to miles et al, and the sunshine pumpers. If we can win out, credit to miles. If we don't win out, we're legitimately rebuilding. Regardless, it was a heck of a win. Interested to see who get in a bowl and if we take care of business against arky. If Cameron can rebound from losing mett and Chavis can bring the D closer to what we've come accustom to, we may be alright. We may be able to go toe-to-toe with the best. I've got some hope again. Good job Les.
Let me also say, I've got a ton of caveats, but I need to shelf 'em. The proper way to eat crow right now is to say I was wrong and Les proved me wrong AND most importantly... GEAUX TIGERS!
Far from it, it was known, a&m took the game last year to heart. They had a good game plan, Chief did a great job, like last year as to not letting them get in a rhythm. Chief showed them a bunch of different looks, kept them off balance. As was said to me Saturday night, y'all have our number. The defensive staff did a great job in taking players out of the game, you could see a&m guessing, then trying to find anything that would work. The offensive side of LSU was to man up, make them stop you. Great job by the staff. How many TD's and Int's for johnny in his two games against LSU? This was well planned. I'll give them credit. An enjoyable game to watch.
Speaking of...........great stat........ LSU has won eight games or more for 14 years in a row now. That's the longest streak in the country.
While I do like the streak, I still think for the amount of money we pay this staff that we should have a higher standard. Call me crazy... And yes I am extremely happy with our game against TAM, just wondered where we were against Ole Piss and Bama.
Ok, I'll call you crazy. What you think the staff at bama makes? They can't slow down little Johnny. They are 1-1, we are 2-0 against him. That's football, always has been, alway will be. What you think they are paying the staffs at Fla, who beat them this week? Only at LSU we can get a win like this and people still complain.
I'd like to give a KUDO to Rashard Robinson for slugging it out with Mike Evans the whole game(or UFC match). I think their game plan was to go to Evans because that pretty much what they started out doing, but Robinson spoiled that and it seemed like they didn't know what to do after that.
Games like Saturday beating the shit out of A&M confirm my position that LSU has been better then their record and that is on the head coach. Again, VERY happy with the win as I know this was the team would SHOULD have been all year. It looked like Miles Tried to let the game rest in the hands of his OC and DC. I hope he gives them full control b/c it showed how good they are.
