I would say, it has already happened, and hopefully does not again.

Our hopes that Art Briles will be the next head coach at LSU have been dashed. He signs a 10 year deal with Baylor with a "significant buyout" and will make 4 mil a year.

I am confused as to what is so exciting about Art Briles?

He recruits and more importantly, DEVELOPS talent. His offense is innovative and unstoppable as it is now, with NFL talent at only a few key positions, but no real depth to speak of. Can you imagine what it would be like with elite 2 deep talent at every position? Couple his offense with an elite DC, and you have the makings of a juggernaut.

I know Miles isn't going anywhere, but hopefully by naming a few names, it will shut up the 'who are you going to bring in that can do a better job' crowd.

That said, what about David Shaw? Could he be pried away from Stanford for the ultra-competitive SEC? He runs an SEC style offense and defense and has some very creative plays/blocking schemes out of power running sets.

I am willing to bet that his Heisman QB's is the difference maker.. Outside of that, nothing special about him.

IMO Jimbo Fisher is the best top to bottom outside of Saban.

Very good with O and D Jimbo is. Sending lots of guys to the NFL at FSU

Yeah, a Heisman caliber QB helps all coaches, not just Briles. They had 5 players drafted last year, so it's not just one player. Besides, Griffin is gone. Oh wait, did you mean the OTHER Heisman caliber QB he has now? Just goes to show he's a great recruiter to get that kind of talent to go to Baylor, of all schools.

Won't dispute your take on Jimbo, but I doubt we could pry him away from Fla. St. He's got it going on there now.

Not to mention Briles turned a 2 star high school QB into the NCAA all time leader in TDs, yards, completions. Case Keenum is starting now for the Texans. He has two former QBs starting in the NFL and 1 more that would be if Kolb had not got knocked silly in preseason.

He should have went big time instead of extending his contract. Baylor is a small baptist school in a small town.

Agree, don't see Jimbo leaving Fla St anytime soon.

Dumb? I knew this one was too easy. Easy money. That team had some talent.

This made me laugh. Do you think Heisman-caliber QBs just develop themselves?

He's put together a dominant season so far, but it's just that: a single, incomplete season. He's got quite a ways to go before he warrants legitimate comparisons to little hitler.
