So im leaving friday, what is everyone doing for game day? I'm not tailgating. I wanna walk around and soak up everything, any suggestions on what to check out around campus? I wanna make my way to the strip and find a good places to grab a bite and a beer besides the hounds tooth, any suggestions? Wheres the LSU section in the stadium? My tix are on the 50, 7 rows up on the LSU side is that in the Bama section? Any suggestions on where to park? I don't wanna walk 2 miles. Open container law? No glass bottles i take it. How bout cans or cups? Thanks guys and :geaux:
Best to do in Tuscaloosa: Beat the $hit out of Bama. You might do well skipping out on the tailgating...most of that is done by that massive cemetery they have within walking distance to the stadium. I've never been, but I always hear about Dreamland Bar-B-Que being awesome over there. Not sure if it's on the strip though... By the way, avoid the Bama concession stands at all costs. The worst ever... If they're still the same as last few times I went, they gave me nachos (cold and stale) on a plate and they didn't serve Coke. It's actually a fun trip though and the stadium looks like it holds 225,000 people.
Dreamland Bar-B-Que is south of the Interstate kind of out of the way, but not worth searching for it in my opinion. Toughest ribs I've ever eaten, but the Gumps think it is great.
Well in Feb. the girlfriend and i went to Nashville and stopped off in Tuscaloosa to see the stadium and we ate at full moon or blue moon bbq not sure which it was called and i had the ribs and my g/f had the baked potato stuffed w/ pulled pork and found the food to be great but i'm looking for something around the stadium or on the strip.
Apparently, for Tiger fans, the best thing to do is throw piss bombs, kick old ladies in the shins, slash tires and burn effigies of $aban.
True story: I was solicited by a nasty hooker wearing a Bama sweatshirt at a Tuscaloosa gas station. It was 10:30 in the morning and I had just stopped to get some coffee. I've also had a beer thrown on me by a old lady in the stadium in 2005. All in all, my times in Tuscaloosa have been alright. Now on topic. You could just stay in Birmingham and then head to Tuscaloosa in the morning. They have more stuff there anyway.
