So what makes you think Jefferson doesn't have an arm? Since you're obviously blind, let me tell you a little secret. Jefferson has just as strong an arm as Lee! The difference is, Jefferson hardly ever throws the deep ball off his back foot.... and guess what? It makes him more accurate! wow!
That was a ton of passing plays called last night. Plus I think about the million bubble screens and option plays that we run to very little success this season. Not sure that I am letting Crowton off the hook. But clearly we do not have the best QB's in the SEC. JJ is definitely an average SEC IMO. Lee proved that he has not improved from last year.
It's also the coaching staffs responsibility to develop players. LSU has several highly rated QB prospects and none of them appear SEC ready including JJ. The development of players especially QB's has been horrible. The play calling has been atrocious! The ability or willingness to put game breaking players in position to make plays has been non existent. With the abundance of talent LSU has on the offensive side of the ball they should be able to just line up and dominate 80% of the defenses they face this season. The offensive coaching staff has failed the team this year. Hopefully it will be a wake up call and the staff will come back next season with fire in their eyes and a little passion for football. I also wouldn't mind seeing a change or two on the staff. The OL would be a good place to start.JMO
that's why your opinion is a joke  So you would rather have these guys over JJ as LSU's starting QB? Tim Tebow Joe Cox Stephen Garcia Jonathan Crompton Mike Hartline Mackenzi Adams Chris Todd Jevan Snead Greg McElroy Ryan Mallett Tyson Lee I can give you Tebow, Mallett, and heck, maybe even Jevan Snead. But can you seriously say you would rather have anyone else on that list over JJ? (please say yes :lol
When given the opportunity JJ has made plays. The problem in the coaching. Granted Auburn and Tulane dont have vaunted Ds but still in all. The fact is when you predictable your hands are tied. Against Auburn and Tulane, LSU varied the play calling perfectly. LSU also actually showed FAITH in JJ and let him go down the field. Against Bama the play calling went back to no balls. Why do they let Lee go down the field but not JJ? Yet they start JJ? Makes ZERO cents. Also why the hell do you stick with Lee when he cant even complete a freakin pass against La Tech? Why not let Shepard get some playing time. Lets go further here with the coaching/play calling. The problem also lies with personnel. Against Bama everytime something started to work LSU went away from it. Scott starts getting momentum, lets run the stupid option instead. Shepard starts doing well, lets try some predictable WR screens. We dont let anyone establish any tempo or rhythm. Its obvious Shepard needs more touches yet he still doesnt get them outside of the same old predictable plays. He needs more game time to disguise things. I was OK with the Bama loss despite some complaints. I like how we fought. But couple that with how atrocious last night was Im back to losing faith in Miles and staff. LSU kills themselves constantly with dumb penalties in crucial situations as well. The option has to go. Its not working yet we keep going to it. If you that damn hell bent with the option let Shepard run it. Also the option to the short side of the field is plain stupid. Especially when your QB is NOT an option QB. Parsons did very well at FB, yet against Bama he didnt really play much. If JJ cant go against Ole Miss, LSU will get beat if they play like they did against Tn. Miles will ride Lee into the ground again like he did last year, thats evident after the La Tech game. He wont give Shepard a shot. Flame away Miles backers. I really like the guy a lot but he seems to be regressing as a coach.
I think the reason many people wanted JLee to get another shot was because JJ wasn't overwhelming. We've won with JJ, but people feel like our offense should be so much more explosive given our talent level. So some people wanted to see if Lee had improved from last year. Now we know he hasn't. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
I wont lie I was wanting to see Lee get some game time. But that was when JJ was appearing to lose it. JJ really came around after the bye week. Sadly he was handcuffed yet again against Bama with the no balls play calling. Lee is clearly not a starter. I dont care how ready Shepard is or not, we can throw less and run more options with him but he cant do any worse than Lee. We know as long as JJ is out though Miles will ride Lee into the ground like last year.
WHAT???? you do realize Red is a legend in his own mind about ALL things Football right? man get with the TF program! he is above replying to your off handed remark so he sent me a lowly messenger. No soup for you!
Ok so take this a step further. Now that people see the offense isnt overwhelming with a pretty good YOUNG talent in JJ AND the offense blows with JL..... whats wrong? could it be the O line? the OC? just a thought. not trying to suggest anything here.
