99.9999995% The only way he'd get denied is if LSU messed something up in filing the paperwork, etc...
Tyson Jackson was getting some serious hype after his Sophomore year..like top 15 pick hype, but his mediocre Junior season really set him back, I think. If he returns to form he'll be a 1st rounder, I'm sure. I'm assuming that Charles Alexander is getting a medical redshirt for this year too. Haven't heard anything, but I figure he'll get one.
What are the deadlines to declare for the NFL? Also when will we know if any of our players will be approved for an extra year of eligiblity?
The offensive line is in tact and will be improved with Barksdale at RT (maybe not early on but surely by season's end). The defensive line will be really deep once again, and will not miss a beat as RJF will now become that destructive force that Dorsey was. Jackson will play much more like his sophomore year than his junior year. You dominate both lines of scrimmage as LSU will do in many of their games, this bodes well for LSU to make a run at another national championship.
Having a great O-line certainly takes a load off of RP's shoulders too. Will help him in his progression as a quarterback. I'm excited for our defensive line next year as well. And that will most definitely help our secondary too, if we can consistently get pressure on the QB.
Joe Barksdale will be a good one... a really, really, really good one. As any football guy (or gal) would know, the LT is the most important guy in the O-Line, because he protects the QB's blindside, but with Black and Barksdale, we'll have two "LTs", because Barksdale would be a LT if it weren't for Black excelling. Being a D-Lineman gives Joe such an advantage, because he knows all the little tricks of the trade.
I think we will look back on '08 and say that LSU had the most combined amount of talent on the O and D lines put together.
