On January 17th, the American Heart Association will be hosting the 22nd Annual Paul "Bear" Bryant Coach of the Year Awards in Houston. Our Coach, who lead our beloved Tigers to victory last night is one of the nominees. After the ups and downs we've had this season, and certainly in appreciation for CLM staying at LSU, it's our duty as true fans of the purple and gold to show him just how much he means to this University, the fans, and the team! I just spoke with Lisa who is coordinating the Awards and she said the place is filling up fast.....just NOT with LSU fans!???! I couldn't believe it! So far, they've sold 1 table to LSU, 10 people, and that was to 1 special guy who wanted to host Coach Les Miles table. Kansas has 2 full tables and working on a third, and Missouri is beginning to come around. The ticket includes a four course dinner (steak and bass), OPEN BAR, and the best part is (other than the fact that the Coaches are totally accessible and willing to mingle), is you can write off 160.00 of the 250.00 ticket as a donation to the AHA. Plus, you get a tax letter from them! AND, it's being held at the Hyatt Regency in Houston. They are giving room discounts....129.00 per night instead of the normal 255.00! I've paid that for a lot less quality. Come on guys, don't let the Coach down....he can't be there in a sea of Kansas supporters!! How would that look?
