Poise plus the ability to be a dual-threat QB like Flynn is why he is starting and should start. Lee has a really good arm but I would not trust him out there versus Auburn. Hatch can manage us to victory this weekend. That much I know. That's all I need to know.
Neither of which is terrible, but of course, consider the competition. Now, add Hatch's running ability, and we're right back where we started...'bout dead even so far. What did we just learn?
Lee did not help himself in Saturday's game. He missed three passes that were almost sure touchdowns and he seemed confused at times. I have always felt that Lee was the better quarterback and will likely take over as starter by the end of this season. But so far I have not seen signs of that happening. Hatch will start against Auburn.
Honestly, I think Hatch's lack of pedigree is what many folks are still stuck on. So far, he's played pretty well considering his lack of game experience. It's clear to me, at least, that he's playing (overall) a better game than Lee. Give him a game or two to get his timing down on the longer throws. He'll never be Matthew Stafford. But neither were Matt Mauck and Matt Flynn. We seem pretty happy with their results.
i don't know man....based on what i'm reading here, salty's play by play, in a stick and ball game, might be a bit too much for us....all butt wiggles and crotch adjusting with the occasional pitch, hit, run and catch.:wave:
