Sorry, I had to leave for awhile. Uuh, oh chit! I forgot what I was gonna ask you. If I think of it i'll get back with you. Great post though.   Nope, still can't remember...Later
What about '04. That was the year after our NC & Nick had already built the program into the "finished product" as you say, yet we lost 3 games & didn't win a championship. True, and he's done as good of a job as anyone could have to sustain that. For those that think Miles is a poor coach (aka drama queens), what coach could do better? Every coach loses games to teams they have more talent than. Every single one. That could be different next week. Let's wait & see. Can you support that claim?
I want to add that if you think Saban was never outcoached, it is because you buy his BS hook, line, and sinker. Saban refuses to admit that anything is ever his fault & always puts the blame on someone else. When Miles' players make mistakes, well that's ultimately because of coaching, right? Yet when Saban's players make mistakes, the fault lies on the player - not the coaching staff.
yep and saban was outcoached by zook. and whomever coached UAB and ULM and by that guy in iowa, etc. etc. look, you're getting kind of bashed here but you gotta realize that you made a pretty crucial mistake. you said you were waiting to reserve judgment about miles until after his third year. best i can tell the third year ain't over yet. most of your points can be refuted with relative ease and because of that it's obvious you made your judgment directly after a heartbreaking loss instead of looking at the big picture.
Parso, show the stats. You showed it the other night, it I recall correctly. Take Saban's first year out, and Miles winning % is STILL higher. In fact, if you take Saban's first TWO years out, Miles' win percentage is STILL almost 10% higher. Instead of dwelling (read: dreaming foolishly) on how great we would be had Saban stayed, wake up and realize that he is not the coach here anymore, and he is about to lose his 4th straight game to finish the season...including losing to LSU...AND ULM! Saban was here 5 years. Let's see what Miles does to "redeem" himself to you people before you decide Saban is so much better than him. Give him the same 5 years you gave Saban. Likewise, when Miles loses 5 games in a season, (see 2002), THEN crucify him...not when he loses 2 games a season. Some people have selective memories...and that's OK. Like I said in another post, we're fans...which is short for FANATIC.
