Alright sunshine pumpers, nega Tigers, Miles haters and Mad Hatters! Listen up! It's time to put away all that stuff, toss the differences in the closet and join together hand in purple and gold hand as one Tiger Nation. So fire up the gumbo pot, pack the ice chest full and strap on your gear. For Saturday Night takes on a whole new meaning this time of year. It's on!!
I'm hearing a lot of good stuff about this Spears kid too, and strangely enough hardly anything about Quantavious Leslie.
Perfect thread. I was thinking of doing something similar. Glad you beat me to it. Excellent! Can't wait for this season to get going. Under the radar is kind of nice. Reminds me of 2003. We'll be in top 5 by mid-Fall, then scratching for top 3 by November. It'll be a fun November and December, I think. Geaux tigers!!!
I'm just glad the BAMA/VaTech game isn't opposite the LSU/TCU extravaganza. But even before that we get North Carolina vs South Carolina at 5 bells and Ole Miss and Vandy at 8:15, on a Thursday, that's Thursday folks. Someone pinch me? Well, not you HalloweenRun . Miss St/Okie st at 2:30 Saturday and Bama /VaTech at 4:30 then Georgia/Clemson at 7 and the LSU game at 8. This by the way, is the day, where I officially turn on the second TV for my viewing pleasure. Oh yeah, I'm stoked!!
I can't wait for the first game! I have a feeling that LSU is going to surprise a lot of nay-sayers across the country.
As the card carrying, Miles supporting, purple and gold bleeding eternal optimist ... I agree! But even if I set the Purple Kool Aid aside for a moment, the feeling remains. I believe that this is one of the best coaching staffs top to bottom that has ever led the Tigers. We have talent and lots of it. Yeah we lost a lot but boy are there some kids on this team to be excited about. I cannot wait to see Johnson blow some people up. I am excited about the linebackers and I can't wait to see what Beckwith can do. I also think that Mettenberger is going to emerge. Cameron is just what this team needed to right the ship. His history with QB's and RB's is something to cause even the biggest doubters to take pause. But an even bigger reason to be optimistic is that our coordinators are strong enough that Miles can step back and just be a head coach. Sure he's going to have his influence on the game plan. He's supposed to do that. But I believe that we are going to see something different this year. We are now out of the shadows of Perriloux and the long series of events that were touched off as a result. We have endured the trial and error of the past several years and will emerge as a truly competitive and well prepared team. We have the right coaches in the right positions with the right skills and a lot of very talented young men. And, as others have noted, we are flying under the radar without excessive hype and media attention. We have them all right where we want them ...
