Nah, we get to play the #2 team, at least that's what you guys will be after we beat you and Saban gets on his knees to try to back his way into another championship game.
I disagree with the premise here... I'd much prefer LSU start with a few layup games to work out the kinks. Never underestimate the value of a confidence building game for young players. The coaches benefit as well. They get to decide on some position battles before hitting the meat of the schedule. The only downsides to these games are the fans are less interested and the chance of injuries.
In 2011 you guys shot out of the gate like a bullet. The kids probably practiced fall camp like their hair was on fire getting ready for the ducks and you rode the momentum to the NCG undefeated.
First of all, I think hell just froze over because I agreed with Tusk. However, this year, we sort of have the best of both worlds. TCU was a good challenge for week one, and now we have two cupcakes prior to SEC play. 2011 was a crazy exciting schedule with Oregon and WVU in the first few weeks, but last year, the cupcakes we started with (I guess I shouldn't include Washington, but we took them to the woodshed badly in that one) hurt us early in the season. We weren't battle tested. I don't love playing cupcakes, but it is the nature of the beast. As for ND? I would swap schedules with those overrated bastards any year, and LSU would be undefeated most of the time. No one, I mean NO ONE, on their schedule makes me all that nervous.
