I agree about the Gump behind it and the timing, but it's the 10k his parents borrowed and the 20k in discounts his family received that has me worried.
Don't worry. This happened over a year ago and was cut a dry between LSU and the NCAA. Nothing new has occured since then. Writer has a history of these type of articles and LSU.
I instantly smelled a rat because of the timing. But still the financial part had me a little taken aback but I feel better now thanks.
Something about a guy funding 10k for the website, and then the family getting 20k in discounts let me find the article. Read the last line http://theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/13899812-123/fournette-family-took-down-their
10k is a lot to build a website like that. I could get a simple ecommerce site built for a couple of hundred. The Fournettes were being grossly overcharged
I've been trying to come up with what I think will happen all week before actually posting anything. So without further adieu, here goes: It's Bama's house, and that will play into this. Long term, we have a better record against them in their stadium than ours, but not as of late. So the crowd will be obnoxiously raucous and out of control. This might shake LSU (Harris) at first, but he will settle in later when we need him. The weather will be an issue as well, however I think that plays into LSU's hands. Rain means more ground pounding for LF7, which means Bama will load up at the line. Two things can happen there: 1) LSU is still successful running the ball regardless of the box being stacked (it can happen), or 2) At some point Harris will make Bama pay for selling out to the run. I think #2 is the likely scenario, and I like our WR's chances against their DB's. I'm also pretty confident that Harris will do exactly what he needs to do, just when it needs to be done (like when/if there is brief lull in the rain, etc). I also look for more plays that get LF7 the ball while he is in motion rather than just running it up the gut. He's got good enough hands to do this even with the rain, and this will eventually tire Bama out. LSU will have a lot less trouble scoring than most people think, in my opinion. Bama will have to be more aggressive in their play calling, which means passing the ball. Look for turnovers. LSU will pick at least 1, maybe 2 and reverse the field. The Tigers will have to capitalize on these turnovers. LSU has a habit of making passing offenses (and QB's) look bad and Bama will be no exception. With regard to the run, Derrick Henry is a great running back, but he's not going to carry this game for Bama. LSU is greedy and well equipped to stop the run, just about as much so as Bama is. If it's logical to think that Bama can stop LF7, then it's at least equally as logical that LSU stops Henry. This plays into Bama needing to pass and turning the ball over. That said, Bama will still score some points. All in all, I expect it to be a great game; maybe one of THE greats. LSU will emerge victorious in this one. It will be tight throughout most of the game and the lead will change hands a couple of times, but in the end LF7 breaks a few long ones due to Harris making the defense back up. LSU will score late and never look back. In years past, LSU has played Bama very close even when we weren't supposed to, but just never could finish the damn game. This year, I think they will. No matter the outcome, all other games in the country should be stopped during this time slot so everyone can tune in and see how it is done. LSU - 34 Bama - 24 #5 - 8 carries, 40 yds #6 - 14/22 - 224 yds 2 TDs, 6 carries for 37 yards #7 - 28 carries - 177 yards 2 TD's - go ahead and mail in your Heisman ballots now ladies and gentlemen.
