The more I think about it, I feel like LSU may come in lollygagging a bit and get off to a slower start than we have seen the last 2 games. They have been listening to analyst all week jocking them, seeing that they are 24 point favorites and the early kickoff has a little impact on them. LSU 30 Cuse 13 Fournette: 16 carries 115 yards 2 TD's Harris: 14 / 21 for 183 yards 1 TD (to Dupre) Guice: 12 carries 94 yards Factors: This is an undefeated Power 5 team in their house. They are bringing everything they have (minus the injured players) and I think the 1st half may a lot closer than LSU fans will want it to be. Now, if LSU comes out the gate like they have the last 2 weeks and keeps their foot on the gas throughout, it will solidify to me just how dangerously hungry this team is. Its not difficult to get up for conference games against ranked teams when you are hearing all week that you're unproven and overrated. This game is a test to their mental focus on this season and their desire to make the college football playoffs. I want to see this team play with a killer instinct every week. Similar to what we saw in 2011.
LSU 45 - Syracuse 13 Harris for 125. Fournette for 150. Les is not going to expend too much energy or lay the wood against Syracuse. Fournette will not be pounded any more than 15-17 carries. The receivers are eager to see some balls and Les will let it happen. Safe throws and no turnovers, but if they stack the box and we get single coverage downfield I think Harris will throw long. He needs to show that he can do it and our receivers may get some wide open opportunities. Reserves will see the field and Syracuse will score on them in the second half.
LSU 49, Syracuse 10 Harris 15-22, 175 yards, 3 TD's (Dupre, Duval, Quinn) Fournette 15 carries, 160 yards, 1 TD; Guice will break 100 yards and score a TD I also think we get a pick 6 from Adams or Toliver, and White returns a punt for a TD
LSU 33, Syracuse 9 Harris 19 attempts, 118 yards. Still not good enough. I hope he gets in 30 pass attempts. Fournette 18 carries, 201 yards, 2 TDs. Another huge day for the Heisman front runner, further solidifying his top spot. Cuse will try a flying Wallenda move to try to stop Fournette, to no avail.
