9-3 in the SEC is a fine season of football. We have won the SEC championship with three SEC losses, you know, won the bowl games and finished 10-3. 2001 . . . you were 11. Geez, bimmy, we play at a high level in a tough league and have more wins in the last 6 years than any other team in it. 9-3 is damn good football. Top-10 caliber football that most teams envy. If LSU plays at the 9-win level consistently . . . the double-digit championships years will come regularly. It's as good as any team does.
9-3 is a failure when you're on a championship caliber team.. with as you have said.. a schedule built for a championship run. Isn't it? 9-3 is only one loss away from 10-2.. which gave us the chance to play for a championship. We needed help though -- but we certainly delivered. It's important to remember that 9-3 is also one loss away from 8-4. You were predicting 9-3 for this team.. this season (rebuilding.. again) -- yet you would be happy with the same record for a 'championship run' kind of team?
I know it's higher-level math but stay with me here.. :hihi: I was really just making the point that a 9-3 season is the fence (in my opinion) between success and failure.
