I am trying to keep the faith but all we heard last year from Miles was we will get it corrected and we know how that turned out. Fast forward to this year and we hear the same thing and after four games so far we have seen little if any improvement.
Let's say we go 8-4 this year (not a stretch).. his record over the last 2 seasons would be 15-9 regular season, are you happy with that? His body of work as a unit is fantastic -- but it looks like the best is over.
I have seen lots of improvement. I have seen the Defense get a whole hell of alot better in the secondary. I have seen some linebackers play alot better than the backer play we got last year. The quarterback situation has gotten alot better, our receivers are playing great. All improvements from last season. We lost how many offensive linemen? And both starting ends, and 1 tackle. I just think you are going to see it come together this weekend against UGA, if i am wrong then i am wrong, but we need fans to get behind this coach and team, not belittle them for making mistakes young teams make.
We lost Helms and Big Herm. I hope it comes together against UGA too.. they're in the same boat we are right now. Somehow.. our offense is far worse than it was last season.. and our QB is much better this time around.
I wouldn't be, but you can't fire a guy who won a national title 3 years ago and has taken LSU to two straight bowl games since. Last season was not great, but if they only lose 4 games this season, they could be in a New Years Day game. Not a BCS bowl, but you can't fire somebody after bringing a team to the Cotton Bowl. Either the wheels have to completely come off or he has to have 3 or 4 mediocre seasons in a row.
Will you be happy with 15-9 over two seasons or not (62.5%)? 8-4 looks like a very realistic prediction right now (it could change quickly.. for better or worse). If the public perception is correct.. and we have another mediocre season.. he's quickly on his way.
Happy? No. Realistic? Yes. It beats the hell of of 2-8, which got Dinardo fired. You can't live in a dream world where LSU has a divine right to double-digit wins every year. In the SEC! And when we don't, the magic cure is to fire the head coach. That's to the cure to all problems! Surely, championship-caliber coaches are lining up to get a job a at school where .825 and a crystal football gets you fired. You don't fire coaches with 82% winning records. Nobody does. Nobody ever has. Is that so hard to understand? At long last, can't you accept that despite your disappointment at being undefeated and ranked in the top-4, that talk firing Les Miles is overreacting.
