I don't agree with the premise of CLM moving on, but also disagree with the notion that Nebraska's situation would compare to LSUs. Nebraska's talent cupboard was bare when they parted ways with CFS, and who in the heck would want to live in Nebraska, unless you are from there or the nearby midwest. I believe coaches like BDavis, or Cincy's coach would be very interested in a talent laden LSU team with great tradition and the opportunity to compete in the SEC. Again, not suggesting any coaching change, but if one was ever made in the next year or two, we will have absolutely no problem recruiting a top notch coach, IMHO.
Let me reiterate that Im not calling for Miles to be fired. I do feel if he loses this team again this year and we lose 4-5 games with no real improvements then there is something wrong at the top. If next year is another down year then there would be good reason with three straight underachieving seasons. Now all this is said in the worst case scenario. I like Miles, I just want to see the Hat back on the sidelines, with the fire back. All that said if the worst case scenarion plays out I dont see why Crowton couldnt be bumped up to HC? If not three straight years of under achieving is pretty acceptable, Im sure LSU could get their pick of the litter.
This pretty much sums it up for me. I'm not stubborn enough to insist that if Miles suddenly starts producing again and our team improves that he should be fired.. not by any means. I'm all for 2nd chances.. and in my opinion -- this season is his 2nd chance. I would love for Gruden to be our coach.
I feel he has earned more than just this year. But next year is the final chance if this season fails. I just want that same firey intensity back in his eyes. The gutsy play calling.
Evidently Miles needs to move on so we can go back to the halcyon days of the Mike Archer/Curly Hallman eras in order for LSU fans to realize how good we have it now.
See that is the problem; I believe most of the posters on here complaining bout the state of the team are the ones that wasnt here for those years.
The 20-year olds were 10 the last time LSU had a losing season. They have seen nothing but a decade where we averaged 10 wins a season. Some of them seem to think that LSU has some kind of divine right to championship seasons every year. Fellers, 8-4 is not going to get Les fired. The subject ain't even going to come up among the people that count.
First of all miles in my opinion was a bad hire but he is our coach so we have to support him. However there are a few things I'm concerned about. 1.Team has no swagger they don't seem to be motoivated kinda just walk around. There is no fire under them 2.I am concerned with miles's ability to judge talent quote"This is the best offensive line we I have ever had". That's funny to me cuz WE CANT RUN THE BALL AND PASS BLOCKING ISNT MUCH BETTER. 3.Offensively what are we doing we seem to be debating if were gonna run a spread offense or a pro style. 4.Our linebacker's are average at best.our defensive talent is overrated in the front 7. Besides Alem no one else seems to want to play. 5. At the end of the day no matter how u feel. Whether you like miles or not unless your blind you know the coaching is not were it should be.
