Arrrrrgghh!! Les is less than 1% under my inflated expectations! I must start a fire Les Miles thread!
I just finished reading EVERY post on here, and the two above are really the best, most concise, and relevant ones, IMO, and summarize my thoughts best. While the original title is hard to get past, and I do not agree with it, I must say BMY has maintained a level of maturity throughout the entire thread and demonstrated class regarding his responses to the constant criticisms. Many of the complaints rightfully are about an immature perspective, but bmy is actually demonstrating quite a bit of maturity in his responses and is not just referring to this year's team/record, but over the last 17 games dating back to last year. Judging by his responses, I think his growth/maturation will continue through the years, and he will see that there is more to all of this than just Ws/Ls, or making some mistakes against inferior opponents. While I am a bit discontent with offensive play calling, line play, and the running game, I do see improvement in our team/coaching week to week, and feel as we continue to gel, get used to new def. coaches, and mature as a team, I think our product on the field will "look" better, but only hope our record will continue to be as good as it is
that he has. i'm enjoying the discussion with him right now. i disagree with his opinion, but at least he's giving his reasons, and actually attempting to explain himself.
I think that was LSUTigerDad's point, BB looked "laid back" on the sideline, but behind the scenes he as a taskmaster. If you watch Heart of Geauxald, you will get some insight about CLMs fiery disposition "in front" of his players, even though he seems "laid back" on the sideline sometimes. That is how he prefers to lead by example, which is a pretty darn great trait of CLM, IMO.
BMY, I may not understand a word you are saying, but I'll fight to the death to defend your right to confuse me. You have been a genuine gentleman in your responses and in stating your position. Gotta respect that. I just don't happen to agree with you, and you don't agree with me. I can live with that! :geaux:
:hihi: That's funny. I think we're all expecting around 3 losses though.. so this number could rapidly fall. You guys might like this topic from TD.. (I know, I know.. but seriously -- check the link) http://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/messagetopic.asp?p=9563015 His overall record is very very good -- I'm just afraid he's slipped. Everyone peaks and then falls.. the question is when. If he matches the 2008 season he won't have such impressive stats anymore. If I'm wrong at the end of the season.. just bump this thread and I'll do what I gotta do I never like being wrong.. but I sure do like my Tigers winning -- I think I'll be okay either way.
Im going to wait to judge at the end of the season and what I see from here on out. I do however think you bring up some good points. Ive said quite a few times I dont see the same Miles since winning the championship. He doenst have that edge anymore. The fire is gone. He, nor coaches, nor players have been held accountable. Also what happened to the gutsy, balls out coach that got the moniker the Hat? Now all we have is a uber predictable coach. Like I said, I like Miles overall and feel he is a good coach. It just seems he is in a tailspin right now. If things to get fixed then its going to keep getting worse because confidence and swagger will be lost. I dont see the same intensity we seen in LSU before. As mentioned in other threads Ive watched football long enough to know you cant win titles every year or SEC titles. I wasnt expecting that this year with UF. I also know we wont blow out every team, but the fact is we look lethargic against the weaker teams on the schedule. We dont really see too much improvement, when we do, its followed by mistakes and steps backwards. Id like to see the Hat or Mad Hatter come back, not a Big Ten version of coach Miles.
Shhh...you'll prove the ledge jumpers wrong that they can't disagree with popular opinion without getting castrated.
