I never said I expected to 'blow them out of the water'. I said that we may just come out and do that.. and IF we did I would eat my crow for Miles having this team ready to go. I just don't remember ever saying that we must 'blow UGA out the water'. So red.. hypothetically speaking.. if we continue to look sloppy and make no real improvement over the next 5 weeks.. and we have 3 (maybe 4) losses.. what is your reaction? Do you become concerned? The internet has changed everything.. so much information is available. Quit accusing me of flopping sides.. I haven't done that. I want Miles out.. but IF he magically turns around I'll admit that I was wrong. I don't get what the big deal is.
You want him gone or you don't. The thread doesn't say, "maybe we get rid of Miles depending on how the rest of the season turns out". You're calling for his resignation right now. If not, you woulda waited to see how the season unfolds. At this point, if we somehow win it all, you'll just say "I was wrong"? You won't say, "I still think he should leave because blah blah blah"? That's playing both sides, guy. You want him fired? Stick by it, win or lose.
I do not think it is time for Les to move on, but I do agree that overall our team appears to be lethargic. The offensive line needs to get a hell of a lot meaner if we are going to run the ball against defenses in the SEC, and the defense pretty much got whipped by Mississippi State except for the goal line stand. We gave up 21 first downs to MSU and that is not going to result in many conference wins. I would like to see Les get a bit of a mean streak or passion about him like Bo Pelini had. I think that carries over to the team. I'm not sure that LSU fans like a laid back coach, and I don't think our lineman and defensive players respond to a soft coaching style. Les and John Chavis appear to have similar personalities and I feel your DC needs to be a SOB sometime to fire up the players. Some coaches like Pete Carroll can coach with a laid back style and have a lot of success. I for one prefer someone who gets in the a$$ of his players and coaches when play is not up to par, and I don't see Les doing that enough. Just my opinion, Tiger fan in Orlando :usaflagwa Support our troops!
Why is it such a big deal to want him gone after the season is over? Why would you replace a coach mid-season? Read the original post once again.. and you'll see that I wish him good luck for the rest of the season -- but next season it's time for a change. But yes -- if we somehow win it all or even go 10-2 it will simply be "I was wrong" and an apology letter to Miles. That's fair, I think. (Of course there are exceptions.. I mean like if every team we play does the Florida flop multiple times and we win because of that.. :hihi: that's about can think of for exceptions though.)
We may not follow recruiting as much as you, but we could care less if VANDY had scored with inches to go...........we played MSU....Now i understand.....you watched the wrong damn game..........
Ole Miss fans are on suicide watch around here. And you guys actually did lose. At least your fan base probably wants Nutt gone, too
