I saw on tigerbait where he is coming back to LSU. I find this hard to believe because I thought when he came to the FL. game it was to see Fl. He must have enjoyed his visit. Now that he is coming back do we actually have a shot at him?

If RP leave after his junior year, then Tebow could start by his junior year... not a bad setup...

Fisher supposedly told Alex Cate, our current QB commit, that Teabow was only at the game to see Florida & that LSU was not recruiting him. Whether he really likes LSU or not, I don't see him coming here. Best dual threat QB in the nation signed one year before him, will have redshirted & have 4 years of eligibility when he came here, not to mention JaMarcus & Flynn whom each have 2 years left after this season. If he chose LSU, he would have to be very accepting to strong competition & sitting the bench for a while.

But if we did sign Teabow, LSU would have one of the deepest lineups of QBs ever in college football...

    Tebow

I doubt we have any shot at him, and if it costs us a great pickup in Cate then I'll be pissed. Alex may be short and may only be a 3*, but with a little coaching he is the real deal. In a lot of ways, I'd rather have Cate than Tebow.

The experts all have him ranked ahead of Cate...

    I'll trust their rankings...

if we can get him, great; if not, bring on Cate

Tebow has a much higher ceiling, but his technique is questionable and his accuracy is bad right now. Cate is a gun-slinger, and has the type of pocket prescense that Mauck has. We're stocked with QB's with "potential". I wouldn't mind finally getting a true pocket QB in here. That guy is Cate.

And if we keep on recruiting Tebow (despite probably having a 1% chance of signing him) it could steer Cate to another school. Then we are stuck with no QB.

I am not calling you out, because I know you know what you are talking about, but how long have you followed recruiting so closely?

    I am impressed

I'm sory, you don't pass up on player like Tebow for anyone. This is Jamarcus Russll/Robert Lane all over again. If a guy with the pysical gifts of a Tebow (Russell) is interested, damn an Alex Cate (Lane).

That's great if you want to lose Alex Cate because Tim Tebow comes sniffing around LSU with medium to low interest. Cate has well over 30 offers, and not from crappy schools either. He's a true Dropback passer, and nothing like Robert Lane, he can actually throw the ball accurately. I'm surprised we got a commit from a QB the caliber of Cate. I'm guessing you haven't seen video of either QB?
