He had a radio show locally that got shit canned which pissed him off. He's from Shreveport I believe.
He started on country radio in BR back in the 70's. His station did high school games, so he would call my dad for help or to call games with him when my dad played on a Thursday night. In short, he didn't know a lot about football and needed lots of help.
Brando went to ULM. I know one of his kids was, or is, enrolled at Ole Miss. A lot of other SEC fans would say Brando totes the water for LSU at every opportunity. I can see why some say that though it really doesn't matter if he does or doesn't. I don't mind talking heads being a fan of a school or being against another. It when they portray themselves as neutral that gets on my nerves a bit. The late Stuart Scott of ESPN was a HUGE UNC fan. He made no bones about that fact. But, I never saw hit have any bearing on how he reported or commented on news in Chapel Hill.
Brando deliberately goes out if his way to show that he has no LSU bias. He sounded ridiculous on Finebaum.
