I cannot remember last time we had this much drama in a recruiting season...Sure the RP was a HUGE drama thing at the last minute, but this year we have several recruits going back and forth, one decommitting two days before signing day, like three or four looking else where, two or three we are up in the air on.... 1) What is Tillman going to do? 2) What are the Georgia duo going to do? 3) Where is Chris Mitchell going to go? 4) will we get Reshad Jones or Charles Deas? 5) Is London Crawford actually going to decommit two days before signing day and sign with Arkansas like Mike S just said? Lots of questions!
Well, so much for London Crawford's coach saying that he "instructs his players that if they are going to commit, then it's 'final'." ...and that they (his players) don't play recruiting games... :dis: Boy, this Crawford kid really made a goat out of his coach... Well, if Crawford is decommitting, then perhaps that clears the waves for Chris Mitchell to sign with us???? As for Tillman...this is another RJF situation where if it's up to the player, they sign with LSU no problem....but it seems that in BOTH of those young men's cases, outsiders are trying to direct them. Let's just hope that Tillman follow's RJF's lead and ends up making his OWN decision!
I think that's why Crawford is starting to waiver - the coaches are making him feel like maybe they'd prefer to have somebody else (aka Chris Mitchell). Not quite the same. It seemed like RJF was a lot more certain about where he wanted to go, but he was having direct pressure from his parents to go somewhere else. While Tillman knew where he wanted to go, but has become uncertain due to indirect pressure.
Uhh, Crawford isn't going to qualify, that is the only reason he decommited. He'll be back on our radar in 2 years out of the JUCO ranks.
These recruits need to realize one very important concept: It's the NATURE OF THE BEAST--created mostly by previous recruits throughout the years of committing--then decommitting. Also, they (recruits) need to understand that top-notch programs will CONTINUE to strive for the best recruits--and you shouldn't feel slighted if they continue to show interests in other players at your position because basically, THERE IS NO "loyalty" in recruiting anymore--at least not until those letters of intent are signed and faxed.... So if one side wants to play games, then the other side gets to do it as well. Some recruits don't have the "thick skin" to over-look things like that....They're human...and I can understand why some get upset if they feel like they're being over-looked, or if they feel that the school doesn't treat them like the next "All-world player at his position" any longer.... But if that's the case, and IF you're a recruit that doesn't have that "thick skin", then perhaps you should just sign your letter of intent early and be done with it....unless there is some rule stating that a recruit CAN'T sign before national signing day...
Yeah but given LSU's WR situation and the possible CM situation, it's possible LSU sent some vibes to Crawford that since he wasn't going to qualify that we weren't as interested... We've got a very tight class as far as numbers and I could definitely see the coaches not wanting to fool with a Grey shirt, especially considering our current WR class and our current studs at WR...
