OT Lee Tilley is going to announce where he is headed on Monday and OT Chris Stewart is going to announce tomorrow. Stewart is almost definetely heading to Notre Dame, we were in the lead for Tilley for a while, but I think he is Auburn bound.
Supposedly Tilley was a backburner OT for us, so that can kind of be thought of as good news..means the staff thinks they are in good shape with someone they consider better. Tilley said he has known the school he was going to for a long time, and he visisted AU back in July..so....
well JVincent25 since it looks like you are the recruiting man here, what OLineman are way going after/ in good shape for. Also what is the word on Ricky Dixon, Jai Eugene, and Chaz Washington
We'll probably get Trent Williams and Steven Singleton. I'm starting to get a good feeling about Ian Symonette, who everyone figured was a Miami lock. The staff obviously held him in higher regard than Tilley, and apparently they're very confident that Ian will be a Tiger. I'd put it at a 50/50 split between us and Miami. Zhamal Thomas will sign, and if he qualifies is probably the most talented OL we'll get, but he probably won't qualify. Russell Okung was supposed to be a guy we were supposed to watch out for if Tilley went elsewhere. Dixon will be a Tiger just as long as he commits in time. If 2 or 3 other WR's commit first then he could be left out in the cold, but we're his leader by far. Jai will be a Tiger IMO, but he won't be commiting until signing day. Chaz commited to Miami, but I think he really wants to be at LSU, if he is willing to play OL then he'll switch to us, but Miami is apparently promising him a shot on the DL.
Good post JVincent. I have a few things to add. Apparently Zhamal Thomas may be in better shape academically then everyone thinks. His grades are supposedly on the rise and shouldn't be an issue and only needs a 17 on the ACT (not hard). So that's good news on him. I agree with the statement about Symonette..seems we are back in the picture with him. He would be a huge pickup. As far as Chaz I think he may be a guy who realizes he may have more potential on the O-line and makes a switch to us on signing day and joins his Destrehan teammate on the Tigers.
