...with the victory over Nicholls last night in Alex Box

LSU has only won 40 games in the regular season twice since 1998...in 2004 and in 2009, and both those teams went to the CWS, winning it all in 2009

If we win our series vs South Carolina this weekend, this LSU team will finish with a better regular season record than the 2009 team (41-15). if we just win one game vs South Carolina this weekend, this team will finish with the same regular season record as the 2009 team

also last night, Katz had a 3-run home run and an RBI double

Nola went 4-for-4 (double, 3 singles, and a walk) from the leadoff spot, meaning he is now 6-for-6 since taking over as our leadoff man

the only problem was our closers struggled last night. we were up 9-2 going into the 9th, but then Rumbelow allowed 2 of the 3 batters he faced to get on base (single, walk), then Goody let 3 of the first 4 batters he faced get hits (the other one reached on an error) before striking out the last two batters to end the game
