Deculus ain’t great. Still, he’s another body, and I’m glad he’s coming back. Maybe he takes a big step forward this year.
Need we discuss offensive line recruiting again? It hasn't been very good....like Deculus' blocking. Go back and look at Joe's hilite reel from last year and see how often he made great throws on the run; specifically, stepping up and then moving to his right to avoid the DE or OLB that had just run by Deculus like his feet were in concrete. BTW, I must have earned some kind of tigerfan.com prize. My previous Deculus post was liked by both @TigerTap and @shane0911. That can not have happened before!
Others including Don Castavez have complained about Deculus’ foot work (or lack there of), but you are correct, if we had someone better they would have beaten him out. Maybe a sad commentary on our poor recruiting of offensive linemen. Glad he came back. If someone beats him out this year then we know we have an upgrade. If not, then he is the best we have and we are aware of his limitations.
