But that's straight up without the spread correct?

Vegas has the most expensive free drinks I ever saw.

Betting the money line has long been the way it was done in baseball but that's because you can't really make accurate point spreads and people bet the starting pitchers. When did they start that with football? Most bettors lose anyway by consistently betting the spread.

Greedy muthas were already making a killing on the juice.

I don't know. If it was straight up then on a game like Ohio State vs Hawaii everybody would be the Buckeyes noatter what the money line was.

Dam, I've only fooled around some with small-time stuff and all had to worry about was the juice (10%).

Correct, that's money line but juice is not always 10% like @lsutiga said, it can get chunky as well

With no spread you should be able to make money by betting ranked teams playing non power 5 conference teams that are a big underdog.

You fellas might as well be speaking Greek...

I don't bet on anything, but especially not for or against the Tigers, unless it's a fun bet. I made one with a high school friend of my husband's for the '05 SECCG. He was living in Atlanta at the time and loved him some UGA (though he played basketball at Rice.)

Of course, I lost that bet, which was: buying him a UGA shirt, but first I had to take a picture of me in the shirt while on campus at LSU and send that with the shirt. I did it, but I must have put some voodoo in it because he was wearing it the next year when UGA lost to Vandy. I believe he burned the damned thing after that.

And we haven't made a bet since.

If I ever have to pay off a bet with something like a T shirt you can bet I am going to take it to a voodoo shop in New Orleans and have it jinxed before I send it.

I just read the letter from Alleva concerning the Auburn game, most of it was about parking and safety, but he said something I wasn't aware of. He said the Southeastern Conference makes them play at least 1 day game on CBS. I thought CBS could pick you for as many day games as they like and that they had first choice on all SEC games.
