How often has Lee gone no huddle? Is it successful for you? http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/featured/33956304.html?index=1&c=y
I think this is exactly what he needs. Just go back to the Florida game and watch how he directed this offense in the last minute of the first half. That's all the proof you need.
Many times this season. It's successful for him. The OC sees who is in on defense and sends in the play from the sideline. Lee doesn't have to read the entire defense and call an audible. He only needs to make the key reads on the play just called.
That's why Lee is so successful behind center when he fake handoff's and then turns around and fires a bullet down the field. I saw LSU use this play often the first 4 or so starts Lee got. . .if we can establish the run well and make Bama play up for it, I can see this play being used effectively again. Call me cynical (sp?) but I'm actually excited to see the next few seasons as Lee matures as a QB. He's got the arm strength and seems to be able to take getting hit as well as he's had to play from behind so much this season that I have to believe he's going to be able immune to it. Heck he's already fought back twice from behind. I'm getting side tracked. Point is, yes, No huddle I think is a good thing for Lee. He seems to be able to play that style quite well. And heck, once he learns how to read defenses, he's going to be able to go to no huddle and check off at the line. Plus, when you go to no huddle as a QB you get to do all that pointing at the line of scrimmage that looks like your conducting an orchestra.
I really hope they do this. It was good in the UF game, but UF was playing a bit of prevent. But this will not allow Bama to see the offense then make adjustments and it will allow them less time to decide the blitz package. Saban at LSU had the players changing blitz packages and making adjustments depending on what the offense set up. If you do no huddle the defense has no time to make those moves and give less time for the defense to confuse lee with blitz looks etc. This could bode bad though if we don't get a few first downs each possession because the LSU defense will get little rest and be on the field longer. Having the defense on the field longer is not good for us.
My guess is the no huddle possessions will be used based on the situation. If it works they may stick with it. If it causes quick 3 and outs they will probably wait a few series. I don't think they are going into the game thinking exclusively no huddle. At least I hope not.
I don't know about that. With the way some LSU fans view Lee, they might think I'm cynical about being hopeful with Lee. Besides, all you people looking to Sheppard to come in next year and lead us to a NC better realize, at LSU you have to be white to win. (And named Matt). <<<< this is a joke by the way, see, the hand waving icon wave
The South Carolina game is the best we have looked, because of the no huddle offense or what ever you want to call it. I have been praying the OC would pick up the pace, its only common coaching sense. It should be practiced allot and executed with the best skill we can muster. It will throw the best defenses off kilter at the right times, and does not not have to be used on every series of downs.
