The Advocate this morning lists 41 former Tigers on NFL rosters this season. Inside the numbers:

There are 5 rookies on 4 different rosters: Ricky Jean-Francois and Curtis Taylor (49ers), Tyson Jackson (Chiefs), Herman Johnson (Cardinals), and Quinn Johnson (Packers)

The senior Tiger in the NFL is Kevin Mawae (Titans), entering his 17th season. Other long-in-the-tooth Tigers are Alan Faneca (Jets, 13th season), Kevin Faulk (Patriots) and Todd McClure (Falcons, 12th season), and Mark Roman (49ers, 11th season)

The 41 Tigers are disbursed among 23 teams. The 9 foolish teams without a Tiger on their roster are the Dolphins, Texans, Jaguars, Ravens, Broncos, Eagles, Panthers, Vikings, and Seahawks.

The Chiefs have the most Tigers with 4 (Dwayne Bowe, Glenn Dorsey, Tyson Jackson, Rudy Niswanger). Teams with 3 Tigers include the Patriots (Eric Alexander, Kevin Faulk, Jarvis Green), Falcons (Chevis Jackson, Todd McClure, Keith Zinger), Cardinals (Early Doucet, Ali Highsmith, Herman Johnson) and 49ers (Ricky Jean-Francois, Mark Roman, Curtis Taylor)

The Saints have 2 Tigers (Randall Gay, Devery Henderson). The Chargers, Jets, Packers, Bengals and Bills also have 2 Tigers each.

The most common position for former Tigers in the NFL is Wide Receiver.... there are 6 (Dwayne Bowe, Chiefs; Michael Clayton, Bucs; Craig Davis, Chargers; Early Doucet, Cards; Devery Henderson, Saints; Josh Reed, Bills).

There are 5 safeties (Ryan Clark, Steelers; LaRon Landry, Redskins; Mark Roman, 49ers; Craig Steltz, Bears; Curtis Taylor 49ers), and 5 guards (Alan Faneca, Jets; Herman Johnson, Cards; Nate Livings, Bengals; Stephen Peterman, Lions; and Andrew Whitworth, Bengals). The only positions that currently have no NFL Tigers are kicker (punter Donnie Jones is with the Rams) and offensive tackle (though Whitworth was a tackle at LSU and has been converted to guard by the Bengals).

We played Central Baton Rouge in baseball my senior year or junior year i cant remember, but Todd McClure, who i believe was the starting catcher, was at the plate, and this dude smoked a curve ball over the fence, and over the road behind Central's field and it hit a house behind that road.
