Here is a good link to SI where you can search any school and the top players from that school pop up on the right. Click on each player to get an analysis with video. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/specials/draft/2008/video/?eref=T1
I like this assessment of Jacob Hester from Sunday Morning Quarterback blog: "If I'm honest, I have to say this little sumbitch is probably my all-time favorite football player. And that's just what he is: not the biggest, not the fastest, not real athletic, just a down home, hard-nosed, kick-ass country boy that loves football and always gives 120 percent for his team. How he plays is the way they played in the SEC for 50 years, y'all, Gary Danielson said it and he ain't lyin' - straight-ahead, no dancing, no prancing, no chest-thumping and acting the fool. He's like one big heart out there, pumping along, shooting blood all over the place. Always falling forward, always getting the job done. These draft "experts," they think they know, but they just want to measure 40 times and a bunch of bull**** like that. If I was a general manager, I'd take eleven Jacob Hesters and Craig Steltzes over a JaMarcus Russell any day. Think of it like this: who's got a ring and who doesn't? That says all you need to know right there." SMQ
St. Louis says they know who they are taking at #2. They said their pick will be the Pillar of their defense for years to come. Likely between Long and Dorsey and the fact they mentioned Adam Carriker can play anywhere on the Dline helped them make their decision likely means Dorsey is the pick. :geaux:
Now Michael Smith is reporting they will take Long at #2. Which would fill their needs better than Dorsey would so Carriker can stay in the middle. Atlanta will have to decide between Dorsey or Ryan. Dorsey could be #4 to Oakland.
I had a feeling OAK was going to make a poor decsion and stack up on a position they already are in good shape with last year. All of their RBs showed something last year. Good news is that Dorsey doesn't have to go to that team. Very surprised KC did not take the deal with the Saints because they had 13 picks already and they wanted more. Look for KV to trade down in the 5th to get some OL in the 7th. Bowe and Dorsey united. Nice job by the Saints moving up to get their 2nd option. Welcome Ellis.
Congrats to BIG GLENN!!! I hope he has a long and distinguished carreer in the league and stays healthy. He was great at the draft today. Seems like a nice guy with a huge heart.
If USC can show me a crystal football for 2003, I'll eat my hat. You have plenty of trophies without stealing one. Have you no shame?
