We go into opening week of the NFL season with 37 Tigers on active rosters. Some of the stats: 23 NFL teams have former LSU players. 8 have 2 or more. After several seasons as the biggest carrier of Tigers, the Kansas City Chiefs have a rival; the Dallas Cowboys. Each team has 4 on the roster, while the Houston Texans are carrying 3. The AFC West is the only division where every team has at least one Tiger.

The only positions not represented are tight end and kicker. With 5 cornerbacks and 5 safeties, LSU may soon stand for Louisiana Secondary University. There are also 4 defensive ends, 4 defensive tackles and 3 linebackers. On offense, there are 6 receivers, including Trindon Holliday, who is listed as a WR by Houston but will rarely take a snap there. He's really a kick returner.

There are no Tigers on anyone's IR, PUP list or practice rosters, although about half the teams in the league haven't announced those yet. The complete list:

Buffalo: Ron Brooks, CB; Kelvin Sheppard, LB; Kyle Williams, DT
    New England: Stevan Ridley, RB
    NY Jets: Laron Landry, S
    Cincinnati: Andrew Whitworth, T
Pittsburgh: Ryan Clark, S; Al Woods, DE
Houston: Trindon Holliday, WR; Bradie James, LB; Donnie Jones, P
    Indianapolis: Drake Nevis, DT
    Tennessee: Quinn Johnson, FB
Kansas City: Dwayne Bowe, WR; Travis Daniels, CB, Glenn Dorsey, DE, Tyson Jackson, DE
    Oakland: Joseph Barksdale, T
    San Diego: Brandon Taylor, S
Dallas: Morris Claiborne, CB; Nate Livings, G; Danny McCray, S, Marcus Spears, DE
NY Giants: Reuben Randle, WR; Corey Webster, CB
    Washington: Perry Riley, LB
    Chicago: Craig Steltz, S
Detroit: Stephen Peterman, G; Keiland Williams, RB
    Atlanta: Todd McClure, C
    Carolina: Brandon LaFell, WR
    New Orleans: Devery Henderson, WR
Arizona: Early Doucet, WR; Patrick Peterson, CB
    St. Louis: Michael Brockers, DT
    San Francisco: Ricky Jean-Francois, DT
    Seattle: Matt Flynn, QB

Todd McClure is still playing? He must be 112 years old.

Yea Hester and Lee cut on final roster cut day. Lee benefited from having 2 other QBs injured. SO I assume they are expected back soon.

Hester is another story. McClain was picked up in the offseason and not enough room.

Too bad about both especially Hester as he seemed to have a niche there. Any chance he will get picked up somewhere else? Also what about Rudy Nisswinger. He had been playing guard for the Bengals.
