FYI, Boston leads Chicago 3-2 in a best of 7. Thomas starts for Chi. and Baby starts for Bos. The games and series have been surprisingly close.

Dont forget Brandon Bass and the Dallas Mavericks beat the Spurs and put them out of the playoffs.

Let me also just say that I've been glad to see Big Baby get his time while KG is out. There are a lot of folks on this board who debated with me whether Big Baby could be an effective PF in this league given his size and weight. In the playoffs, Big Baby has averaged over 20 ppg and is grabbing like 7 rpg. He has been effective on the glass and taking his game outside to hit midrange jumpers off the pick and roll.

I remember saying that, with an early second round pick, the Celtics got a good value in Big Baby. Ironically, he's been playing against his former teammate in Tyrus Thomas, who reaped the benefits of being a lottery pick financially, but has actually struggled at times in the Bulls' system. Of late, he has performed well, when he gets his spots, but has averaged less points and rbs than Big Baby in the playoffs.

It's just an interesting statement of how the Draft works, and how it doesn't really predict success in the League.

I agree. Baby showed NBA potential throughout his LSU play. His last year with LSU was awesome. I was able to see him play in Morgantown and he was a big reason LSU beat the mountaineers in their own house. And as big as he is, he can run the court. Last weeks Sports Illustrated had a two-page picture of Baby and Thomas going after the ball in this years playoffs. Makes me proud.
And LSU as a team is really growing leaps and bounds with our new coach. I never cared much for Brady. Our current coach took a team that he didn't recruit and really "coached" them to the SEC title. I saw them beat Kentucky in their stadium and I was impressed. It's a good time to be an LSU fan.

Thomas does make the big money, around 4m. Bass and Davis make about 800K.

Time to rephrase: Thomas makes the crazy money, Bass and Davis make the big bucks! :)

I was hoping for something along the lines of, yes I am rich, need a mill or two?

But seriously, I've been impressed with TT's ability to hit the mid range jumper. I only saw him play for a short period of time in one game but he looked confident taking shots from 15 feet. If he hits those in college, Brady may still be here because he may have won a national championship as crazy as that sounds.

i dont watch the nba so i dont know both teams situations, but by looking at the stats the players are about the same. both have poor FG % for forwards (45%) and they avg about the same pts and reb per min played. 7 rebounds for 40 min/game for a PW is not very good, actually it may be bad. tt has been getting over 10 min less per game than glen.

im surprised glen is playing so much. i thought he'd have a hard time scoring in the post and particularly would be ineffective defending the post. if they stick with him im sure he'll only get a better outside shot and boost that FG%. i have no clue how he's doing on D. the matchup with tt probably isnt a great indicator of that.

it kinda seems like boston is forced to play glen. i was surprised that powe wasnt on the roster, so who else are they gonna play? scalabrine? but it certainly means something if he's better than their other options on the bench.

I'll hang my head and admit it....I am one of those who thought Big Baby was destined for a journeyman career in the NBA. I'm happy to concede that I may have been wrong. He's certainly giving us a glimpse of what he can do in the playoffs. Hopefully he'll get the chance to prove he can do the same over an 82 game schedule.
