Ah, I see the tension has already begun over here...guess I'm late. I'm really hoping for this matchup. One of my best friends is die hard LSU, we've already both reserved tickets.
GT and LSU would be a God awful matchup...and not just because GT beat UGA last week. GT has a pretty high powered offense, and the LSU D...well, we all know how that story goes. This would not be an entertaining matchup at all. GT would be better served by being matched up with someone like Ole Miss, though, I fully expect Ole Miss to go to the Cotton Bowl.....or in the Gator Bowl with someone like Oklahoma State. GT/OSU would be an awesome game. Not GT/LSU.
Hopefully it will be the Chick-fil-A in Atlanta. That's better than the Liberty Bowl and the Outhouse Bowl doesn't deserve us. (That's the only one I don't request tickets for.) We could play Virginia Tech in Atlanta. I'm sure they haven't forgotten last year and would love to test our secondary. Georgia Tech would be essentially a home team but maybe they'll be disappointed to not leave the state and not be overly excited about the game. (probably wishful thinking) Regardless...we need a positive showing and four full quarters of effort to get next year off to a good start. Hopefully we'll have a new DC that can at least be at the game to interact with the players and start to evaluate the talent and possibilities for next season.
I think we need to stay behind our team here. I remember back in '05 when everybody thought that we were going to blown out of the water by miami with their superior speed and athletes....We ended up destroying them and they still haven't fully recovered (we did the same thing to ND). I am not saying we will kill GTs program, but we will come ready to play. Les Miles is a man of integrity in good times and bad, despite the rocky season we need to support LSU. :geauxtige
No doubt! This is a tough time, but we need to support our Tigers through thick and thin. Miles is our guy. If he wasn't he would have been lured away by Michigan last year. He will right the ship. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
I wouldn't be too worried about Ga Tech based solely on the Georgia game. Don't forget the added incentive on them to beat the team that didn't recruit them. They did look very beatable against North Carolina, Virginia and Gardner Webb (albeit without Nesbitt and Shaw, their top 2 QBs). Just because they wanted to shake off a 7-year inferiority complex and cathartically destroyed their much hated rival(think how fired up Ole Miss played against us), that necessarily mean we're walking into a drubbing. I'm shocked at how far the confidence of the LSU fan base has fallen. Were people were once boasting "BRING ON USC" they are now cowering at the prospect of GEORGIA TECH? It's not like we're Notre Dame people, we have more than enough talent to tangle with the Jackets. If that's who we play of course. Still a lot that could shake out between now and sunday.
For you to say that GATech is full of players not recruited by UGA and passed over is ridiculous and misinformed. Not all football players want to go to college to unlearn.
Well if you want to be the best you have to beat the best... and for a walk into next season it starts with a win over GT. I think it'll happen... but our D has got to come through in this game... without giving up rediculous yards on penalties. I think JJ will lead the O to a banner night.
