Quote from the above link... Describing VT's Defense
Longtime defensive coordinator Bud Foster might just have one of the country’s best defenses ready for 2013. Defensive end James Gayle (12 sacks over the past two seasons) is one of eight returning regulars on the Hokies’ defensive line. Outside of an injury to cornerback Antone Exum, who is likely out for the opener against Alabama, the Hokies’ secondary should also be viewed as a strength

And with a good defense, in the first game of the season given that defenses normally jell earlier than offenses... Yes, VT does have a real chance to upset Alabama.

I'm really excited about that game. I'm going to look at it a lot more, but for now i'd say if we play that game three times, Georgia wins 2 of 3, so i really like our chances there at having that 1 of 3 going our way

I love Beamer and Bud Foster, but their only problem is poor recruiting. They have no chance. If their D is as good as advertised, they hold Bama to what? Our D held them to 21, Georgia D held them to 32, ND D held them to 42...and ND had the #2 D last year

Meanwhile the VT offense will be lucky to score more than 10

I thought it was obvious to everybody the answer was Georgia, but I'm surprised to see UF right up there

    2003-2012 wins (10 years)
    107 - LSU
    97 - Georgia
    98 - Florida
    88 - Auburn
    77 - South Carolina
    74 - Arkansas
73 - Bama (not counting forfeited wins for cheating again?)
    72 - Tennessee

Now look at 2000-2012 (13 years), same thing:
    133 - LSU
    126 - Georgia
    126 - Florida
    113 - Auburn
    99 - South Carolina
    99 - Tennessee
    96 - Arkansas
93 - Bammer (not counting forfeited wins for cheating again?)

And from 2001 (the year Richt took over) to 2012 (12 years)
    125- LSU
    118 - Georgia
    116 - Florida
    104 - Auburn
    91 - South Carolina
    91 - Tennessee
    90 - Arkansas
90 - Bama (not counting forfeited wins for cheating again?)

I don't remember Florida being that good the last time i looked at it, but I'll get to that later when i start looking at the LSU @ Georgia game more later

Not really, I just see more than enough talent in the Defensive Backfield. I know he can play DB, but I also know Cam would have some fun with him moving around, trying to get people to cover him. We have more than enough talent at LB and DB, DL is where we'll see people stepping in as backups. Both Ego and Freak are so close to the same weight and height, LaCouture was brought in early and got a dose quickly. I see the Gilmore kid as one to come in and make waves, he did in the Under Armour All-American Game. Beckwith is one I'd like to see at DE, too much talent, but some are saying LB, who knows. Frank Herron is one to keep an eye on, he's coming in a lot like Brockers, he too may start at DE and move inside if the staff thinks he can handle the added the weight. Tre'Davious White is one that may hit the ground running, adding to the DB's, which like I said, has more than enough talent and depth.

Brazil is just too much of everything. We have some good WR's, and RB's, hes a little of both. Now you take John Diarse, he reminds me a little of Early Doucet when he first came to LSU. I'd like for him to be moved around in the Cam system. Same with DeSean Smith, F-back, H-back, TE, etc, the guy has great hands and can stretch the field. He maybe one of the better TE's to come out of the state in years. I think the records by a TE a LSU looks to be broken soon. Yards by a TE for a season Big Dave Lafleur with 439, a career Richard Dickson with 952. I'm not saying we will be slinging the ball all over the field, but we will have our shots.

Oh, a little write-up some might enjoy........

Going to be interesting to hear your breakdown of the TCU game. I see a lot similarities for LSU going in. With Beamer ball, who knows? They gave us fits for three quarters the last time around. They will bring talent on the defense. They have a new OC and if he can mold and shape the raw talent of Logan Thomas it could be game on.

I agree. Bama by at least 2 TDs. At least.

Bama will embarrass VTech, probably beating them worse than they did Michigan last year. I expect to whip some TCU @$$, too.

In what way similar? TCU has the reputation of having an outstanding coach, so does VaTech. TCU is known to get after you and beat you with defense, so does VaTech. TCU has the reputation of doing more with less talented players, thus beating teams they ought not, so does VaTech. The bigger difference between the two, Beamer has been sustaining it longer, even representing in the NC game. Beamer laughs at your top 20 recruiting classes.
