http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/2013/even-when-rebuilding-lsu-football-is-must-watch-in-2013/ I cant wait for the season to start.
LSU returns a dozen of the leading 20 tacklers from last year. We return the leading 4 receivers, both the starting and back-up QB. The top two RB's in yardage and TD's. This OL may be the deepest since Les has made it to BTR, the OL Coach is back in place. Some are talking uga, well they return 8 of their top 20 tacklers from last year. Might be just me, but I like our chances with ga. We have something we haven't had since 2006, a real in place OC, I feel good about this year. On the defensive side of the ball the starting 11 are just fine, depth is gonna have to come in early and fight for positions. This is one of the reasons kids signed with LSU. The other side of the ball, Cam has a ton of players to work with. The good thing about this season, you start with TCU, UAB, Kent St then the barn, before getting to uga. Many are looking at Gus at barn, anyone know his record WOC? 16-10, in the SEC 7-9. Yep, 8-5 two years, with in conf. records of 3-5 and 4-4. WOC (WithOut Cam).
Possibly unlikely because UGA may be full of the suck, but LSU will surprise the pundits (and many of the fans) this year. Also, A & M will get their true introduction to the SEC this year. When is the last time those Aggie fools have put together back-to-back successful seasons?
Yeah, Georgia never responds very well to the hype, especially early on. I remember how incredibly dominant they looked to close-out the 2007 season. They brought nearly everyone back in '08 with sky-high expectations, yet ended up being pretty average. The Tigers, on the other hand, seem to be at their best when no one is counting on them (as the author iterates). Agreed. Aggies fans have a lot to fear this season, most notably the "e" word...expectations. Everyone keeps harping on all of the talent that we lost, yet you hear very little about all of their key players that are gone. Couple that with Jenny Football's issue, and I think the Aggies will take a nice helping of humble pie in the fall.
Exactly. Their story is very similar to Tennessee in that they had a good coach in place, wanted more because they saw teams having more, and fired the coach that had them where they were. Then, looking back, didn't realize how good they had it in the first place. A&M's winning percentage from 1990-1999 was roughly .760 which was better than Texas and better than Oklahoma. It wasn't at Nebraska's level but who was?
It was definitely in the 90's under R.C. He won with strong defenses, but his offenses made LSU's recent ones look electric.
Over the last 10 years(2003-2012), LSU has won 107 games, anyone want to guess another SEC school that has the same or more wins during that same time frame? We have avg. 10 and a half wins a season with that offense Stacy since 2006, thats when Jimbo left LSU.
I'll play. No one has over 100 wins in that period. In order, I'd say it's UF, UGA, and UA that are the closest with UF almost at the century mark. I know that's how it runs down in SEC play over the last decade. There's less than a ten game difference between these four teams.
