Alright I was gonna wait until the end of baseball to post this but what the hell!

This is alittle write up from your host of the Geaux Show, Big Wee, Carey Montz on the past season of tailgating!

Also included is some photos of random tailgates and more can be seen here: Collection: Team KATT Tailgating

If you were at any of the Team KATT / Tigerforums meet ups feel free to post your pictures here as well, but please keep it to photos from those meetups!

Team KATT: The Commencement of Something Beautiful!

    brought to you by BigWee.

The 2007 tailgating season was just as highly as anticipated for Team KATT than it had been in a long time. The reason for this was because two of Team KATT's oldest and baldest sons would make their triumphant return to the state of Louisiana: Everyone's favorite moderator, Crip, and Team KATT's co-founder "The Godfather." The old guard had reformed, and tailgating took on a new meaning. The other thing that would make the 2007 tailgating season special was that it marked the second year of the Team KATT/Geaux Show partnership.

Little did we know that the 2007 tailgating season would be one of the best tailgating seasons any of us have ever expereinced. Before this season, I was not a Tiger Forums mainstay. I had been a contributor for over a year, but did not frequent the board that often. So, when Crip first toyed with the idea of asking a few members to join us at our tailgate, I did not have a problem with it since I was familiar with a few of the regulars.

The first TF regular I would meet would be Nutria. Little did he know early on just how much of a roll he would play at the tailgate this season. If not for him, the "Youtube video clip of the week" may have never been born. So Nootch would soon become a regular at Team KATT every weekend.

Fast forward to the Florida game. Huge game with huge implications. Getting "ready" for the game was a must. On the Geaux Show that week, Crip had eluded to a number of TF'ers who would be stopping by troughout the day. Now call me skeptical, but if you know Crip as well as I, you would know to take anything he says, divide it by 4 and subtract 8.

However, in this case I was extremely glad to be wrong. At first, no one was stopping by. We streamed our Geaux Show live....no one. Yes, I was making fun of JJ at this point. JJ being Crip for those that do not know. Then, something unbelievable happened. TF'ers started showing up in droves: lsutiga, salty, orlandotiger, lsugrad00, lsugradin99 (I think), crystal_lsu, tiger327, okie w/ greenie, lsubatgirl, lsugirlintx, tigerdro, and of course nutria. If I forgot anyone, I apologize.

It was dubbed by us KATTers the best day of tailgating we have ever experienced since our humble beginnings. Call it planets aligning or whatever, but the food was good, the beer was flowing (in our case that is always happening), and many TF members were meeting each other face to face for the first time. Oh yeah, and LSU came from behind to beat the Florida Gators 28-24. A simple prelude to what would become the rest of the season.

That Sunday, I come to peruse the board, looking for some post game reaction. Well, as usual, I got an eyefull of that. But I also saw numerous threads dedicated to what a great time everyone had tailgating with Team KATT....US!!! I went from a once in a while poster that day to posting pretty much everyday.

This was all too good. Something had to be done. It had been determined because of the TF meet and greet that took place at the Florida game, that Team KATT HQ be the meeting place at every home game. A very high honor for a bunch of fat, baldheaded, skinny, goofy drunks from south LA.

The next official TF meet and greet was set for Auburn. I cooked what could only be described as one of the best pastalayas EVER. A few patrons from the UF game would return, while the doors were open to a few newcomers. Once again, another highly successful meet and greet was followed by another nail biting football game. LSU 30 Auburn 24.

Tailgating at LSU would resume for Louisiana Tech. Apparantly by this time, we had shown people such a good time that some TF'ers decided it would be great to spend the entire day with us. Some even drove all the way from Oklahoma to do so (Hey Okie!!!).

Finally, while the regular season didn't end on such a high note, the tailgating season did. The Friday after Thanksgiving is always pretty low key. However, the TF'ers made it fun once again on this cold Friday. Of course the regulars where there (you know who you are), along with a few newbies who had read on the boards about so much fun being had, they felt the urge to partake in some of it themeselves: We got to meet for the first time StaceyO, RHans, and ccgw. Again if I forgot one of you, I am truly sorry.

It was a spectacular year. The great thing about it is that it can and will only get better. We have had the pleasure to become friends with some of the greatest LSU fans on the planet. We invite any of you reading this to come on out next year if you have time to make the experience that much better.

Thank you from everyone at Team KATT and GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

Hell of a season KATT. I appreciate y'all letting me and my crew join in the family festivities. I was a litte tentative to just show up un-announced for the VaTech game, but boy am I glad I did.

This was a special football season (one I'll remember forever), and the tailgates were a huge part of it. Hopefully I'll be able to pull enough strings to make as many games next year as I did last year.

I couldn't agree more that the hospitality at Team Katt is second to none. I'm looking forward to the UGA tailgate!

By the way, we had a slideshow set up at my husband's uncle's house in Chicago yesterday, with pictures from throughout the year, and we had to answer lots of questions that the Big 10 wonks had about the pictures from the Arkansas tailgating party.
