my definition?? i took that directly from the definition you posted. according to this website: Louisiana Gambling Laws the phrase "as a business" is in every legal definition of gambling the state provides. any lawyer worth a sh!t will get you off on that phrase alone. definition of business (according to Mr. Webster) a usually commercial or mercantile activity engaged in as a means of livelihood what tirk is doing does not fit this description. giving examples of people getting arrested according to california and hawaii laws are completely irrelevant. according to california law: this is exactly what that couple was guilty of. amazing how much sh!t you could learn by actually reading what you post before you post it.
fair enough we are in Louisiana. what is illegal in California and Hawaii is not necessarily illegal in Louisiana. tirk (to my knowledge) is currently in Louisiana. Therefore he subject to Louisiana laws, not California, Hawai'i, Florida, or any other state not named Louisiana. so the laws of those other 49 states are 100% irrelevant to this discussion. we'll get to that in a moment I didn't overlook that at all. "in many parts" of the United States, what tirk is doing may be illegal. in Louisiana it is not.
how is TF a gambling site? he clearly stated that cbs is the host website. please post the attorney's name so i know never to hire him. and martin, you asked if cbs handles the money. you can't be serious...
suddenly nobody is a legal literalist like they are with all the other issues we discuss. true, it was a dumb question. although it would be cool if they did. and before i did the math and it seemed like it might be a paid service they offered, it actually seemd possible they would manage the payouts. nevermind that is stupid too, cbs would never do that.
No, it's not illegal in Louisiana. Not if all the money is returned to "winners" and a cut not taken out. Not catching enough crabs to eat and having to BUY some is, though.
So you admit that it IS legal, yet you said it was ILLEGAL earlier. Now the only thing you can come up with is dogging me about crabbing. That's low man.
cnn: "Betting on organized sports teams or events is illegal almost everywhere in the U.S. except Nevada and Atlantic City" http://money.cnn.com/2008/03/17/news/economy/ncaa.fortune/index.htm also, if i play, my money would be crossing state lines for the purposes of sports betting. also using the mail for gambling could be mail fraud or whatever. that sounds pretty illegal. you shouldnt participate. you cant go around picking and choosing laws to obey, who do you think you are? doing illegal things is wrong. it is easy for you to be flippant about this, but what about your kids? obviously the proper attitude is to not care if it is legal or not, but you have proven unable to understand that concept, and a bit of a prick about it. and dont forget to claim your winnings on your taxes, mr law and order.
