Setting up an against the spread pool. Likely 50 bucks entry. would prefer 100 since its 17 weeks total. either way. even if you dont win, for just a few cents a day you could feed a family or provide a snack for sally struthers. Includes 15 college football games and all the nfl games each week. The spread is set by cbs sportsline who will be hosting. There will be a weekly and overall prize/payout. These leagues are good to keep your interest in the meaningless pro and college games each week plus its more skill than fantasy leagues. chime in or pm me if interested. i already know a few who would be. if we dont get enough people you can just join the league i play in every year. Scoring: • Pool includes all NFL and top 15 NCAA games. • Spreads provided by CBS Sports for NFL games and set by pool manager for NCAA games. • Ties go to player with closest total points for MNF game. • Players receive points equal to the lowest correct picks score (minus 1) for the week if they do not make picks. Deadline: • Pick deadline is one hour before each day's first game. This means that you can make picks up until one hour before games in weeks that have games that start before Sunday. If there is a Thursday game, you can still make picks for Sunday's games up until one hour before kickoff, even if you missed the Thursday game deadline. example if 15 people join: Finances: • $100.00 entry fee. 17 Weekly Prizes Place Prize 1 $30.00 2 $10.00 Overall Prizes Place Prize 1 $600.00 2 $200.00 3. $20.00
By doing the simple math in Tirks example, for 15 players at $100 each, the payout equals 1500, or 100% of monies paid in. Anytime you need more math help, just let me know :thumb:.
or more specifically 30 times 17 plus 10 times 17, plus 600 plus 200 plus 20. so 820 in regular prizes plus 510 for 17 weekly first places 170 for 17 weekly second places 1500. yep, i guess you are right. you should have done the math with more specifics to show me exactly, so i would not have had to do it myself. does cbs handle the money?
nah. I just wanted to get you moving in the right direction. nicely done. not sure about cbs. if tirk is smart, he'll put that 1500 in a high yield savings account and enjoy his 1.25% for 4 months. he'll be rolling in the dough, but it will be him doing all of the work so he definitely deserves the largasse.
So you've never participated in an office pool? ALL money is being returned to the participants. Find something else to b!tch about.
a good lawyer would not consider this gambling. hell, i didn't even go to law school, and I could get him off for this. gambling is define as "conducting or assisting in conducting AS A BUSINESS" betting between individuals is perfectly legal, as long as the "house" doesn't take a cut. since all money put in is paid out, the "house" doesn't take a cut, so this league is perfectly legal in the state of Louisiana. nice try though.
