Incredible! 15 foot putt on the 72nd hole to win his 6th Arnie Invitational. We are fortunate to be alive to witness the Tiger years.
Were you into golf when Jack was in his prime? I didn't think I would see anyone dominate the game the way Jack did. WRONG!! I saw Tiger in a youth tournament in the early '90s and you could tell he was something special. Mentally he's head and shoulders above everyone else.
i want to stab johnny miller in the eye with zach johnsons stupid glasses. also, that cut tiger hit on 18 was amazing. most wouldnt have the balls to do that when they are tied.
I agree SF, we are very fortunate to witness how special Tiger is. What that man can do on the golf course is unreal. I loved it on 16 when the announcers were saying "why is Tiger aiming so far right, he can't spin it back to the hole from there". What does he do, hits it about 15 feet right of the hole and of course the ball spins back to within 3 feet. I was lucky enough to watch Jordan a few times in person, twice hitting a shot at the buzzer to win the game. I hope one day I'm forturnate enough to be able to follow Tiger for a round or two. I hope Phil enjoys that no. 2 ranking, cause that's as close to no. 1 he's gonna get.
Absolute Magic. I'm right there with ya Bayou. When that putt dropped, the first thing to come in my mind was the how similar it was to watching Jordan.
I remember when Mickelson was the reigning U.S. Amateur Champion and all the Golf gurus were saying he was the next Jack Nicholas. No one could have guessed it would be an African-American out of California. Yet some people still refuse to accept his dominance the game. I remember a few years back I was at a BBQ and Woods name came up. The host said his name is not mentioned around his house because the only reason he was getting all the hype was because he was black. This was after Woods won three straight U.S. Amateur Championships, multiple majors and was the leading golfer in the world. What a fool that guy was.
i think the only two athletes that i've witnessed in my life in the same class is jordan and tiger. they are/were that much better than everyone else. btw i don't follow much besides football bball and baseball but maybe gretzsky and lance armstrong and guys like that fit into this same mold.
I think between Tiger Woods, and Jordan, our generation (Those of use in Gen X) have witnessed something most will never see again in our lifetime. Lebron is great, but he is no MJ.... Tiger is amazing to watch. As an AVID golfer I enjoy all golf but I have to admit when Tiger is in the hunt I will stop down to see him. Do you think Tiger's kid has ANY idea what kind of expectations will be on that poor kid.....
