The turf seemed to break down as the season went along. It caused some players slipping during this most recent contest.

Based on the fact that LSU has struggled for years to establish a turf that will not break down, is it time to conclude that the problem cannot be solved?

How many more years will LSU choose to struggle with the problem?

It is time for artificial Field Turf?

I am ready for Field Turf. We are negating our own team speed by keeping the status quo. It's foolish to negate your own team advantages on your own home turf. That's why the NY Yankees' new stadium has the same short right field porch as the old one.

We just need a better groundskeeper . . . and maybe not have Bayou Superfest stomp it flat every year. They re-sod every year and the sod never seems to take hold like it should. They aren't watering it right either or it wouldn't come up in clumps like it has on two dry-day games this year. We have had years of very good turf in Tiger Stadium since they first installed the under-field drainage system.

Football is a game intended to be played on grass. Turf is for snow-bound Idaho or domes. We are fortunate that the upper decks at Tiger Stadium are set well-back from the field. Some stadiums with small lower bowls have stacked their all-around upper decks close to the field and they are having issues with getting enough daylight on the field. It is a major reason that a full south end zone upper deck will never be built in Tiger Stadium. That would block the light from the grass.

This time of year warm-weather grass is dying and the days are shorter to boot.

Look, people. If we install Field Turf, we could have a purple, gold and white field. Every five yard stretch of the field could be a purple, then gold, then white stripe.

It would not only be awesome, but, potential recruits would love our style and swagger.

Doesn't matter now, the next two games are on turf. Hopefully they get it fixed by next season.

Oh I'm all for turf. red still likes those silly single bar kicker helmets too- not me.

Many Texas high schools now even play on turf. No reason to have Mo Claiborne fall down twice and risk disaster.

we havent had many knee injuries over the years have we? I wonder how that compares against a turf team the last decade with the newer stuff.

ill stick with grass. red obviously always sides with grass on and off the field.

But I think those colors would really pull up my white LSU Ralph Lauren Polo.
