Ok, now that I have made it home, gotten some rest, and have been able to absorb all of the post game media, I have some observations on the crowd. The media, Miles, players, and opponent fans all give credit to the noise and atmosphere during the game. Certainly, it was amazing. It was the most intense game (any sport) that I have been lucky to be a part of for an extremely long time. That being said, it could have been even louder and more insane. I was standing all night in the south end zone cheering like a mad man. My brother, son, and I were the only ones (maybe a few more?) standing all game. (I was asked to sit but I respectfully declined). The south end zone crowd cheered when there was something to cheer about and did get up on third down like any bare minimum fan would do, but they were not an every down cheering and yelling group. I know there are areas in the stadium that are stand up only and I know there are areas that bring the noise on every defensive play. The south end zone could represent themselves a little better for Alabama on Nov 3. Please do.
That was one of the best Tiger Stadium crowds in years. Its about as good as you're going to get in the new Tiger Stadium. I still saw a couple groups pick up their stadium seats and leave at the end of the third. Overall it was better than I expected.
I know that it was the loudest it has been all season. And the noise certainly effected Conner Shaw and South Carolina's offense during the game. Glad the fans finally got amped up for a game. Hopefully the trend will continue through the rest of the season.
