Images released of planned Tiger Stadium renovations | WBRZ News 2 Louisiana : Baton Rouge, LA | Was wondering if all that TAF money was ever going to be used. Finally.
Personally, I wish they had found an alternate site to play for a couple of years and replaced the whole stadium on the existing site. If they had done this before all of the upper deck expansions, it would have been much cheaper in the long run. The lower bowl is really showing it's age. I love TS as much as anyone, but we with all of the expansions, repairs and such, we are spending way too much to have ancient facilities in the lower bowl.
i like the charm of the old site. my dad lived in the dorms in tiger stadium when he was growing up, history like that just adds to TS, and I don't think it should be bulldozed over
They ever bulldoze the bottom part I think you can kiss alot of the noise goodbye. Those dorms mean there are a very few places for the noise to get out. However, I think they can modernize the place and still have a modern feel to it.
Cosmetics. The interior of the old lower bowl is small, poorly lit with inadequate concessions and inadequate bathrooms and no place to build new ones unless they demolish the old dorms and use that space to renovate the under-stands areas. But if they go that far, they might as well replace the entire lower bowl. Parts of it are 88 years old and the newest section is over 60 years old. Structurally it will have to be replaced within the next 20 years anyway. LSU deserves the best. If we can replace Alex Box, we can replace Tiger Stadium.
Agree, but I would prefer that we take a couple years playing in the Superdome so we can rebuild on the same spot. I wouldn't like having the stadium near River Road. GEAUX TIGERS
Who loses their seats for two years? The Dome doesn't have the capacity of Tiger Stadium. Do we reduce the student section for a few years? Can you reduce the visitor seats for a few years?
